Can you explain a little bit of that time frame?
32:01
Yeah.
32:02
And if I'm being honest about my first 15 years over here, I think I was playing a role.
32:10
You know, you got to remember, I'm a country boy from Ireland.
32:13
My father worked in the same pharmacy, corner pharmacy in the middle of Oma for 50 odd years of his life.
32:22
And people would go to dad rather than go to the police.
32:24
People would go to dad rather than the doctor.

7 MINS LATER

39:52
yeah
117:51
Is that just a thing happening to a few of us or a lot of us?
117:56
I think it's happening to most of us.
117:58
Look, if I look at myself, I'm the father of three wonderful kids who will probably come in the door here any second.
118:06
Eight, six and three.
118:08
But when my first kid was born in 2018, look, it was one of the happiest moments of my life.
118:17
But I had a busy career.
118:18
I threw myself into fatherhood, into my career.
119:22
uh anymore i just wonder uh how do how do we end how do we end up here i'm assuming that before a lot of what we kind of just take for granted and in modern life didn't exist decades ago so you know you've you've filled hours by actually spending uh i won't say quality time but damn it i will quality time with with other people what what's what's going on here really do you think
82:26
Is part of this thing perception or how men are sometimes painted in the media as dopes or the man flu and what do you mean you haven't had much sleep? Is that part of what's going on?
82:40
It's a really layered question there.
82:43
I think you're asking a statement and I believe in many statements of it, or many elements of it.
82:51
I would answer that slightly differently.
82:55
I imagine myself sitting around a dining table with my father, who is no longer around, my grandfather, and go back eight generations of uh of my family and we're all sitting around the table and we all have to discuss what it is to be a man and sorry not what it is to be a man what do you do in your daily life And I think my father and grandfathers would all look at me like I have two heads.
83:21
I have changed more nappies than probably the eight generations before me.
83:28
Life is kind that I work from home most of the time, so I get to make my kids lunches and I'm lucky enough that I get to drop them off at school.
85:25
Part of it is that, isn't it? That we're sort of, you know, surrounded by all this stuff.
