Now, is there an instance, could tournament rules or house rules or anything sort of supersede that? What, is there an instance where you could see this not being a case or, or not?
15:45
Well, so we always look first at Mahjong Made Easy, which is the instruction book from the league, and they even define, they, they say you should use call or take or something like that to call a tile, but they even define hold as a way to pause before making a call, and that if the other player next in turn wants it, they're entitled.
16:06
So hold doesn't jump the order.

17:05
Mm-hmm.
17:05
So we have a little handy chart in our visual companion guide for American mahjong about when you're committed to a tile.
17:11
If you're in a tournament, completely different.
17:13
If you're at a home game, a discard's been seen by everybody.
17:16
You could pick it up and do the hokey pokey with it.
5:20
[laughs]
5:20
And just picture for those of you who don't play that are watching this, it's kind of like if you've ever played Rummy or if you've played poker, you have symbols that represent the tiles and you are building to make 14 tiles match a hand on the card.
5:33
So it's pretty much like a puzzle.
5:35
You're matching the tiles to the card.
5:37
And what we always say is what's nice is even if I've played for 20 years, when the new card comes out, everyone's on a level playing field.

32:45
Yeah.
32:45
Because a lot of times people will use the word complete in the listing of a vintage set, and it, you don't know what it's complete for.
32:51
So you have to make sure that there's 152 tiles.
