How do you help women shift from that all or nothing approach?
16:01
I think when we come from a place of love and wanting to be better from a health perspective rather than an aesthetic place or something superficial and not for anybody else but for ourselves, I think it switches.
16:15
And I don't think it's restriction when you're doing it from that right place.
16:20
People are like, I can't have the cookies.
16:23
I was like, but you can have the cookies.
16:25
if you want the cookies, but you don't need to have all the cookies, you know.
16:28
And I really try and educate about how it makes you feel.

7 MINS LATER

23:56
Can you take us back to that part of your story?
0:26
[laughs]
0:26
I think I'm fucking awesome, to be honest.
0:28
I think we forget somewhere very close to us, someone who's not waking up, and I lost a very dear friend the week I got my clear scans, and it was a really big eye-opener.
0:37
Like, wow, you are so lucky.
0:39
You are one of the lucky ones.
0:41
If you give your kids Oreos in their lunchbox-

41 MINS LATER

41:39
Yeah.
41:39
I knew that, even before I got cancer, not that I was cancer or anything, but there was just something I said to Chris literally in the weeks before I got cancer, right? Isn't this weird? I said, oh, I said, "I feel like I'm so, so many cool stories, and I feel like I'm really inspiring in some ways." I said, "I just don't feel like," I think it was because there was, I was going to an event, or there was an event coming up, and there was three guest speakers, and they all had something pretty dramatic that had happened-
LisaHOST
3:45
So like, tell me a bit about that and what your thoughts are on that.
3:48
Yeah, so I love to know things.
3:52
So as soon as I got diagnosed, my mum's also a GP, we kind of went on this rabbit hole of looking for research so i was like why has this happened to me like i needed to know why or at least find out some causes as to how this is developed because from my perspective in my current state of living this should not have happened to me and what we you know and what she told me as well being a doctor was that bowel cancer is actually usually a slower growing cancer especially in the older age group it can be slower growing we now know that potentially this new form of bowel cancer might be a bit quicker But it's actually an interruption of gut microbiome at some point during your life, which then made me look back to when I was a child and what I ate into my childhood, teenage years into my 20s.
4:32
And, you know, with mum and I've had great conversations around this.
4:35
Everyone goes, oh, you're blaming your mum.
4:37
You know, you can't blame your mum.
4:38
She was doing her best.

27 MINS LATER

LisaHOST
31:16
Yeah.
35:59
[chuckles]
36:00
... he's like, "I won't get one just in case." And I was like, "Okay, fair enough." Like, it wasn't like, let's have a fourth.
36:05
It was like, let's just see.
36:07
And I'd kind of been told that I wouldn't be able to fall pregnant naturally anyway s- 'cause of my low egg count, so it was kind of not really a forefront of our mind thing.
36:14
And so yeah, for 18 months, we didn't fall pregnant.
36:17
And then February 2023, I fell pregnant.
36:21
It was actually interesting.

23 MINS LATER

59:07
At what point did you kind of reflect on breastfeeding and think, "Oh, how's this gonna impact that?"
