Can you tell us about how, again, a medical student listening might go about becoming an interventional radiologist?
3:01
The first pathway would be applying to the integrated interventional radiology residency, which is what I'm a part of.
3:07
There's about 200 spots in the country.

Most programs have anywhere from two to three residents.

Some have one, some have four, but I would say average of two to three.
3:15
And essentially what that allows you to do is you're combining the diagnostic radiology training with the, what historically was an interventional radiology fellowship, but you're bundling it into one match at one program and you're locking yourself into the specialty and to the training site for the entirety of your six years.

The other way is you can apply to diagnostic radiology.
