So talk to us a little bit about when we think about AI, what is the first things we have to start processing in terms of our mindset before we even start getting to use it?
6:36
Yeah, that's great.
6:37
Look, I'd probably even go back a step.
6:39
And I mean, it does relate to mindset.
6:41
I'd probably start asking the question, what is my relationship and posture towards AI? Which, of course, is mindset.
6:46
And that's actually where Paul Matthews, who co-wrote the book with me and I, we both began in this space.
6:52
I'm a productivity author.

13:48
So there does need to be some sort of time commitment as we work through all of life and certainly when we come to technology like AI.
7:38
Is it fearful that something's going to happen or is it fearful that the work will fall away, that there won't be any more clients, that they need to be Delivering, what's underpinning the fear that keeps us, myself included, stuck to the inbox and the constant need that we feel the need to be on and available?
7:58
Yeah.
7:59
Yeah, look, I think there's a lot of different types of fears.
8:01
I might share a story if that's all right, and then I'll come back.
8:04
So there's a great story by Dan and Chip Heath, and I'm sure it's a fable, but there are two fishermen.
8:10
They're on a beautiful lake.
8:11
It's sunny.

18:36
Would that be a fair representation?
16:07
And so I wondered if you think, are people at the stage where they are using AI in an intentional way, or are a lot of people still in the experimental phase where they're not really thinking about how they're using it in practice?
16:22
Yeah, look, I think the AI, you know, it's such an enormous, fast-moving beast that we're just trying to keep up and work out where it fits at this stage.
16:32
Obviously, people are at different levels of it, but I don't yet see a deep intentionality, which is why we wrote this book.
16:37
So the book's called Wise AI, Using Powerful Technology in a Deeply Human Way.
16:42
And the core premise is based on the research that's just emerging.
16:47
that there is a default path of AI, which I think is the path of saving time, but not making space.
16:55
And then the narrow path, which we call why is AI is where you use the time that you save with time-saving tools like AI, and you actually have a better life.

What would your advice be on that topic as someone that's done that in quite a deep way in a community?
