Everybody seems to be honest.
1:30
No, I'm not.
1:31
I never heard anything about it.
1:33
Now, do you know what I was thinking? I think I might watch that.
1:36
Do you know that? Alright, okay, good.
1:38
Do you know why? Because I might get a bit of exercise from putting me boots through the television screen.
1:44
The lowest of the low.
3:05
Oh,
16:25
Murder?
16:26
Tall Tales and Murder.
16:28
This is a new one by the fellow who wrote Love Hate.
16:30
Oh, Stuart, yeah.
16:31
And everybody was murdered in that as well.
16:34
Another one called Galway Bay Murders.
16:36
Right.
17:27
Hoose, wasn't it? That's it,
1:20
Uh.
1:21
And thanks for taking the call.
1:23
A, a lovely lad, Mark is.
1:24
A local lad from Letterkenny.
1:37
Oh, yeah.
1:37
But, you know, we all, we all, you know, we didn't get sort of carried away up here in Donegal.
58:44
Is there slightly less of a schedule working in your favour?
58:50
Oh, there's a lot less, definitely, bar the few things I'm doing now, you know, over the next couple of weeks.
58:57
And, of course, Gertrude Burns Cruise, I'm doing that in September.
59:02
And we did Opry and Derry, the Opry shows for T.G. Cahar.
59:08
We did them the end of June, beginning of July.
59:11
But for the most part, I've had a very relaxing time, which I've enjoyed and I'm enjoying very much.
59:16
And we intend, or I intend to, You know, carry that out until next year.
62:54
I think it's going to be a lovely atmosphere, even if you're queuing.
6:06
Mm
6:06
... for the, the day.
6:09
So then, out of the blue, I got this notion one night.
6:13
These words came into me head, and I contacted Mark Roberts, who I had written a few songs with, and I said, "Mark," I says, "There's a, a thing called Relay for Life happening in Donegal, a fundraiser, and th- they're going to use a song, and I have an idea." And between us, we wrote a song called-
6:45
Here it is.
6:47
[singing] So don't say I can't, I won't, I'll not.
6:52
Or this I cannot do.
6:57
Just say I can, I will, I must.
8:20
How are
8:20
you, Ian? What was it like, Daniel? Tell us all about it.
8:23
Oh, Jesus.
8:25
But this was one for the flipping awesome, Ian.
8:27
They ripped the flipping place apart, so they did.
8:31
I was there Friday night as well.
8:33
Both nights I was there, Ian.

9:21
Sandman.
1:15
Really? Oh my God.
1:15
I, I was.
1:16
I was there when Kirk, the, the guitarist, fell off the stage and everything on Friday night.
2:14
[laughs]
2:15
... for the Metallica.
2:17
Three, three pints of me blood, they took out of me.
31:41
But firstly, in terms of what you are doing every six months, just explain how you survey Australia in this way every few months.
31:48
Yeah, look, for us, the focus is on the built environment and the population.
31:53
So we go to great lengths to understand where the major projects are happening around the country and where the population is, and then we plan our capture schedules around that.
32:05
Now, we talk about six months.
32:07
Some areas of the country we've been doing it five and six times per year, and then some areas we might pull that back to about once because they're a regional town.
32:15
There may be some development going on.
32:17
There's definitely interest in there.
36:59
And just lastly, so if anyone listening to us, it might be like, "Okay, well, how do I use this for my business?" What's a practical way outside of maybe construction that someone could use this in their business or their day-to-day life?
6:22
biggest tools in Ireland? What are you talking about?
6:24
Well, you're sitting down and you're minding your own business.
6:26
Right.
6:27
And you're having a nice wee cup of tea in a cafe.
6:30
Lovely.
6:30
And in they'll come, the cyclists with their bellies hanging out over the Velcro and sweat dripping off their helmets.
6:38
They're coming in like a gaggle.
7:32
Look, I'm not a fascist, okay? You're not a fascist, are you not? Well, that's established anyway.
0:34
It's a remarkable career.
0:36
Yes, Anthony, yes, you had a, you know, with Clannad and Solo career, had a huge, huge success all over the world.
0:46
And it's just such a sad, sad day for everybody.
0:52
None more than her husband, Tim, and for Aisling and Paul and for her mother, Baba, and all the family there, the ones that have the greatest loss.
1:02
You know, we have lost a friend and many people have lost somebody that they admired in the music world.
1:08
And, but she was just a gem of a person.
1:12
You know, if you take away all the success, she was a beautiful individual, you know, to, to, to be in the presence of, and we were blessed, Magella and myself, you know, that we were able to spend time with her and, you know, she'd be greatly, greatly missed.
1:58
And I assume, Daniel, that created a great sense of pride in Gweedore specifically and more broadly in Donegal.
2:54
I mean,
2:55
the record company now that I record with in the UK or the Patrouti albums, they're trying to, you know, think, is there any point in having albums? Is it just as well to go with this downloading on Spotify? Because, you know, in the beginning when that happened, I said to them, I says, you know, the audience that follows what I do won't be into that kind of thing, they'd rather have the CD.
3:22
But it's proven to be that the majority of people are just listening to things now online or on download or Spotify or, you know.
3:34
So they're getting this stuff a different way.
3:38
So that's just the way the world moves on.
3:40
Yeah, just a
5:04
Now, during
5:06
COVID, when we were all locked down, it was fantastic.
