And, and as someone who had spent six years of my life studying to become a doctor with many more years yet to come after that, it, it didn't sit right with me that, that the healthcare system failed to identify the needs of a community that is so deserving, and that often has nowhere to turn to.

Um, and, and, and so I, I just simply couldn't accept the fact that I had the skills and the knowledge to be able to help these people, but because of challenges that limit their access to accessing those services, they suffered in silence, on our streets, uh, on our doorstep.

Um, and so, and so I, and, and a number of people decided to, um, to bring something to life.

Are we as a society doing enough to now combat the scourge of homelessness in Australia? A- and I suppose, what is your message?

Yeah look, it's, um, it's a great question, and it's, it's a challenging answer, and we probably need an hour to go through it all.

But you know, what I've learnt is that homelessness is such a, it's such a complex topic.

Um, and it requires a strategy, and, and compassion alone is not a strategy.

My next question before we kind of move into your music is, it might be a big question for you, it might not be, it could be quite straightforward, but I'd love to know, you call yourself a progressive Christian, and I'd love to hear you talk a little bit on how your faith intersects with your queer identity.
