5:55
Tell us about that.
5:57
Yeah.
5:58
So earlier this year, the Los Angeles times, Paul Pringle and Aline check median published a story about this secretive document that the LA times and the LA fire department put together.
6:10
And by the way, shout out to my first amendment, uh, a defamation and free speech expert attorney, Paul Nicholas Boylan, up in Davis, California, who has my back more than any attorney in the United States ever would.
6:26
I don't know why he looks after me, but thank God for Paul Nicholas Boylan.
6:32
And so the LA Times reported on this expenditure of God knows how much money to protect Karen Bass from reputational harm.
6:45
How much lower can Karen Bass's reputation go? And the LA Fire Department, with the help of an outside public relations firm, and what the Times reporters, Paul Pringle and Alin Chekhmedian did, was report on this secretive, confidential document without disclosing to their readers that they are named in the document as prioritized reporters who do the bidding of City Hall right behind Josh Haskell of KABC.
10:36
What do you make of everything that happened this week?
5:54
Tell us about that.
5:56
Yeah.
5:56
So earlier this year, the Los Angeles Times, Paul Pringle and Aline Chakmerian published a story about this secretive document that the LA Times and the LA Fire Department put together.
6:09
And by the way, shout out to my First Amendment friend, a defamation and free speech expert attorney, Paul Nicholas Boylan, up in Davis, California, who has my back more than any attorney in the United States ever would.
6:25
I don't know why he looks after me, but thank God for Paul Nicholas Boylan.
6:31
And so the LA Times reported on this expenditure of God knows how much money to protect Karen Bass from reputational harm.
6:44
How much lower can Karen Bass's reputation go? And the LA Fire Department, with the help of an outside public relations firm, and what the Times reporters, Paul Pringle and Alin Chakmedian did, was report on this secretive, confidential document without disclosing to their readers that they are named in the document as prioritized reporters who do the bidding of City Hall right behind Josh Haskell of KABC.
10:35
What do you make of everything that happened this week?
7:24
How would you describe her politics? What kind of socialist is she?
7:31
Well, I'm also a resident of Sherman Oaks, and so I'm a constituent of Nithya's, unfortunately.
7:39
And it just seems to be, as opposed to Bernie, who, by the way, the champagne socialist who flies in first class, And says, of course I have to fly first class.
7:49
Based on what she's done to Sherman Oaks, which is traditionally one of the nicer areas of the city of Los Angeles, it just seems to be tolerance for living in the street, for suffering, for needles, for forcing on us the people who can actually function in society, the people who could barely stay alive in society.
8:16
It is...
8:18
Well, as Charles Krauthammer said about Bernie Sanders, he said he honeymooned in Moscow and never came back.
8:26
But with Nithya, it's...

11 MINS LATER

19:20
Do you see those figures in the party coming back and doing the same thing to save her a second time?
17:40
So what exactly is not DSA about Karen Bass? [laughs]
17:45
Yeah, that, that's a great question.
17:47
You know, if Karen's the communist and Nithya's the socialist, these are distinctions without a difference, as they say.
17:53
Um, it, it, it's like, you know, there's a nuanced difference between communism and socialism, but between the three of us and everybody in your listening and viewing audience, there isn't a difference on it.
18:05
And, um, I like Dennis Zain, but I'm like, "Come on.
18:08
Come on, man." Come, come on.
18:11
You know, I think it has a lot to do with, uh, his, uh, lengthy career as an LAPD officer, uh, overseeing public safety, uh, uh, for city council during his three terms there.

12 MINS LATER

30:02
Why do you think she's doing that?
24:21
The best in the business.
24:23
Yeah, and you know what, we have a great consignment store right across the street from Gelson's where the proceeds are donated to animal charities and Nithya Raman's office has tried to manipulate this consignment store into some sort of public relations act But I can tell you, from other sources of mine, I can tell you that other members of LA City Council, including Monica Rodriguez from CD7, are working on behalf of Bass's campaign to get local businesses to support her.
24:57
Geez, you wanna talk about the better of two hideous options.
25:02
The only reason Karen Bass has, as John said a couple of weeks ago, Karen Bass deserves to lose.
25:10
But neither Bass nor Rahman deserve to win.
25:14
But a column I wrote a couple of days ago is a way that I suggest that those of you who don't have the guts to vote for either of them, fill in both bubbles.
25:25
Right? Because neither Bass nor Rahman will get your vote, and it will prevent these dirtbags, whoever's screwing with LA elections, right, exactly, from filling it in on your behalf.

6 MINS LATER

31:46
go on first dates in the nude, is it?
24:51
The best in the business.
24:53
Yeah, and you know what, we have a great consignment store right across the street from Gelson's where the proceeds are donated to animal charities and Nithya Raman's office has tried to manipulate this consignment store into some sort of public relations act.
25:11
But I can tell you, from other sources of mine, I can tell you that other members of LA City Council, including Monica Rodriguez from CD7, are working on behalf of Bass's campaign to get local businesses to support her.
25:27
Geez, you wanna talk about the better of two hideous options.
25:32
The only reason Karen Bass has, as John said a couple of weeks ago, Karen Bass deserves to lose.
25:40
But neither Bass nor Rahman deserve to win.
25:44
But a column I wrote a couple of days ago is a way that I suggest that those of you who don't have the guts to vote for either of them, fill in both bubbles.

6 MINS LATER

32:15
It's not the one where you go on first dates in the nude, is it?
24:51
best in the business.
24:53
Yeah, and you know what? We have a great consignment store right across the street from Gelson's where the proceeds are donated to animal charities.
25:03
And Nithya Raman's office has tried to manipulate this consignment store into some sort of public relations act.
25:11

25:27
Geez, you wanna talk about the better of two hideous options.
25:32
The only reason Karen Bass has, as John said a couple of weeks ago, Karen Bass deserves to lose.
25:40
But neither Bass nor Rahman deserve to win.

7 MINS LATER

32:15
It's not the one where you go on first dates in the nude, is it?
21:56
Now, how do they enforce this requirement? What are they giving her as a reward if she's now agreeing to everything that they preach?
22:08
Well, I don't know what transpired, as Karen Bass should have been demanding at every turn that she starts doing tonight.
22:17
I don't know what part of her sworn oath of office Nithya Raman guaranteed the DSA when she first got their endorsement, but apparently she pissed them off enough to get this letter of censure, as I noted in my February 28th, 24th article.
22:35
But if the DSA has now endorsed Nithya Raman for mayor, apparently the first endorsement made sense.
22:43
So we need to know.
22:45
And Karen Bass, where the hell are you, you inept fool? Why aren't you demanding Nithya disclosed? How will she call DSA for her current term on city council? That is a felony.
23:00
Where the hell are you, Nathan Hockman? Because do I have to call the FBI? And NIFIA got the re-endorsement for mayor, so NIFIA had to acquiesce to the DSA.
24:20
But now she's back getting re-endorsed, which means she must have made some kind of deal.
11:12
What kind of press secretary do you think he would make if he were to take that job, if he were to be offered and accept that job?
11:20
Uh, you presciently, uh, uh, said yesterday exactly my thoughts.
11:25
He would be transparent.
11:27
He would be direct.
11:29
He would be crisp in his messaging.
11:31
He would be on point all the time.
11:34
He would be fantastic in that job if he were to be offered it and accepted it.
13:08
As someone who covered Spencer Pratt closely, do you think he would've been an, an embarrassment if he was elected mayor?
32:22
So what do you make of those efforts?
32:24
Yeah, good luck.
32:26
Neither of these women, Karen Bass or Nithya Raman, who I'm extending invitations to to field questions now that we're in this funky predicament, to field questions, the odds of them responding and accepting is very unlikely.
32:40
They're on another planet.
32:42
But what I'm keeping my eyes on is a federal lawsuit presently in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that could be ruled on any day or any week called the United States versus Weber.
32:55
because our fantastic U.S. Attorney Bill Asele is suing Shirley Weber, the Secretary of State, for access to our voter rolls in the state.
33:06
And 9% of the state voter rolls are in the city of Los Angeles.
35:31
For people that don't remember what this was all about, can you give us a refresher course on exactly what is going on with Curran Price?
7:20
That's just im- impossible.
7:22
It, it, it is statistically insane.
7:25
It couldn't happen.
7:26
It can happen, you know, once, once every election cycle on one day with one thing, but this is several days in a row.
7:33
And there, there is no way this can hap- It, it, it just doesn't make any sense.
7:37
And yeah, Dean Logan could come out and tell us that, but if you remember what I said yesterday, he seems to be savoring, like savoring the attention and not giving us too much.
7:47
And I think, especially with Bill Issaly and Harmeet Dhillon and the FBI poking around, I don't see what they're doing, but, but I'm sure they're doing something behind the scenes.
11:30
That's great.
5:23
But Daniel, just your first take on what's going on with the race for LA mayor.
5:29
Well, well thanks for having me on, Jeff.
5:31
I appreciate it, and it's good to see you.
5:33
Um, I, uh, have for years been watching one scandal after another, uh, with the LA County Registrar-Recorder-County Clerk, which is basically the organization that handles not just elections, but birth certificates, uh, death certificates, and, and, and things like that going back a century.
5:52
Uh, and it, it's run by a, uh, gentleman by the name of Dean C. Logan, who is a walking scandal machine, uh, since before he came to Los Angeles, and he came here under one scandal after another up in WashingtonUh, and, um, every election cycle in Los Angeles, whenever there's this delay, when we don't find out why are we not getting timely and rapid responses to, to elections, it's, "Well, we could have this, or we could have that." As you saw in, uh, the California Post yesterday, a story by Jamie Page where they have this airplane hangar-sized, uh, uh, venue to collect and, uh, organize and verify the signatures before they're tallied, and, uh, the...
6:40
One empty workstation after another, despite plowing hundreds of millions of dollars into this function.
6:47
And for some reason, we're three days out now, and, uh, every day it's a few tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands, of updates, and the county registrar doesn't tell us why the delay is.

12 MINS LATER

18:44
We're seeing it in real time here in Los Angeles.
20:43
Daniel, what do you know?
20:46
Hey, John, thanks so much.
20:47
So Deborah and I have been emailing along with Ray during your segments, and I'm sending a screenshot today that I just got from the county registrar website, comparing the figures on a very basic and.
21:03
questionable.
21:05
The numbers are questionable only insofar as they're counting very few votes in the past 24 hours.
21:12
And I'm comparing them to what I saw from the same screen at the county registrar down in Norwalk from yesterday.
21:20
So what I'm finding is that, as Debra said before the break, yesterday, Bass had a 5.06% lead over Spencer Pratt And now, as best as I can tell, it is, what did I say here? It is 5.71, which is 11,748 more
21:41
votes that came in since this time
6:13
She endorsed her after the fires, she endorsed her after it was clear that her Project Inside Safe program that was meant to reduce homelessness wasn't producing the results that she had promised, and she seems to not have a very good answer as to the why.
6:30
W- Well, I, I can tell you sh- I'm gonna tell you right now, uh, John and Randy, today at LA City Council, Nithya was not, you know, she was not out doing the, you know, the last-minute rush in campaigning.
6:42
She was at City Council.
6:43
She was slumped over like an impetuous kid who looked like she knew it was over, and I think she knew it was over at least as far back as that debate when she couldn't handle basic questions, and that one historic moment in my [laughs] ...
7:01
And you guys, you guys are historians on local politics.
7:04
That one moment where she struggled to give an answer, and the, while she was doing that, the camera cut over to Spencer Pratt, a- and he was doing this, this, this look as if to say, "Hey, she has no answer to this question." And I think it's been downhill since, since, it's been, it's been down- it's been downhill since then, and then of course she wants to ban barbecues in a city with African Americans, in a city with Korean Americans, in a city with Mexicans and suburbanites.
7:32
Everybody barbecues here, and this nitwit, Nithya Raman, wants to ban barbecues ahead of Memorial Day weekend, no less.
9:59
What do you see happening there?
19:27
[laughs]
19:27
... and you can't go out now.
19:29
And so I showed those photos to other friends of mine who live in that area, and there is a community watch group.
19:38
And once I started asking, "Hey, did you see this person? Did you see this person?" Um, and I had all sorts of good angles of her, and again, on her left arm, really bad tattoos.
19:53
So some of my best stories of corruption and failure in Los Angeles start at the dog park, so shout out to, to all my friends there.
20:02
And, um, I want to announce on the John Kobylt Show that a buddy of mine by the name of David Vahedi-
24:42
Uh, I, I don't know if it's enough to win outright or just make the runoff, but, uh, he's gotta make the runoff, 'cause then we got six months, and all hell's gonna break loose.
24:51
Ro- all...
24:13
I can't tell you in five years of her even saying the word dog.
24:18
Right.
24:19
And by the way, that woman who lasted a year at animal services just lost her latest job up in Sacramento.
24:27
Stacey Danes.
24:29
So yeah, Nithya Raman is at least as culpable in this.
24:36
And I have scores of emails from people reporting other things that she's reported in her district and across the city.
24:44
And this is a misconception that people have, that even though Nithya Raman, like her 14 nitwit peers on city council, they think that they're only overseeing their one of the 15 council districts, but they all vote on issues citywide.
28:27
How much would it even cost to have a world-class shelter system where the dogs were taken care of and people were paid properly to take care of them?
28:45
So Spencer Pratt wants a retraction, wants an apology, and the LA Times has gone silent over this.
28:55
Yeah, so this morning, an attorney by the name of Peter McNulty, who represents Spencer Pratt, sent Patrick Soon-Shiong, the owner of the LA Times, you know, my understanding is that there's been sort of dickering about, well, show us this and show us that, and that the owner of the LA Times didn't get this apology or retraction going.
29:18
And so attorney Peter McNulty sent him a, hey, you retract this by Monday, And you need to apologize by Monday at 9 o'clock.
29:30
Kind of an or else type of letter.
29:32
They cited my work.
29:34
This is one of the easiest stories I've reported on recently.
29:38
Spencer Pratt was never ineligible to run for mayor.
33:43
Yeah, go ahead.
5:39
So talk about what you found out.
5:42
Well, I knew that the story was fake from the moment I read it.
5:49
because it's the same thing that's been going on every time there's somebody who threatens from the outside to enter city hall that's not in the in the cabal of city government and ngos and the la times and the local broadcast news i knew it was bull from the beginning and i'm going to go one step further than your opinion john in my opinion in my opinion I believe it was nakedly dishonest by the LA Times.
6:20
I personally have the opinion that it was an act of sabotage by the LA Times, not KFI saying that, this is me saying it, because there is no way in my mind that Noah Goldberg, a veteran City Hall reporter, and Richard Winton, who has been part of teams, not individual, but teams that have won a series of Pulitzer Prizes, And law professor Jessica Levinson and all of the L.A. Times editors who this story passed through, that they didn't know the domicile rules that said, no, actually, Spencer Pratt has been continuously eligible to run for mayor, and he is out of the county temporarily due to a massive, well-documented emergency.
7:12
But these same people...
7:14
Goldberg and Winton and Levinson and all of the LA Times editors, they knew the rules that applied to, the same rules that applied to former LA City Council member Richard Alarcon in the early 2000s, which was a criminal matter.
7:30
So they knew that the rules applied to Alarcon, but they don't know that the same rules applied to Spencer Pratt.
8:45
So his legal home address is still the Palisades lot that he's always lived in.
4:25
Explain what he did.
4:29
Well, it's actually a heck of a lot more money that's eventually going to be paid than that.
4:33
But so both Johnny, who presently represents District 12, which is the Chatsworth area, the northwestern part of the valley.
4:44
He and convict Lynn, uh, former council member, Mitch Englander have been elbowing each other to succeed Greg and before him, Alburn's and over, over the past several decades.
4:58
And, um, over the course of their being councilmen, uh, they're approached by a lot of lobby developers, people who need both and favorable, um, opinions in city hall.
5:14
In 2017, there was an infamous trip to Vegas with a couple of these types of businessmen and a former city council staffer to then city council president Michael Bai, B-A-I.
5:35
And it appears, according to all of the records that I've read, They were with alcohol and women who were probably less than half age and casino chips and dinner in the price range that would make your head spin.

22:32
Daniel knows a lot about what goes on inside the L.A. Times, although as jaded as you are about them, you must have gotten knocked back by this one.
22:43
Oh, my God, John.
22:46
It never ends.
22:47
And it's even worse than you realize.
22:50
So, yeah, the Los Angeles Times decided to post a story.
22:57
By the way, such an important story that was written by an intern who plays volleyball at San Diego City College.
23:05
Nothing against her, but it was so important.
26:16
People who lost their family members in that fire to see that this lady is getting rewarded?
20:30
What the hell? It's hard to believe.
20:37
Well, John, you know that I write with kind of a salty style.
20:42
That's just the nature of this crap is you've got to deal with adversity with a really twisted perspective of how this goes on.
20:51
And I'm at a loss.
20:54
And I'll be honest with you.
20:56
I think there's a lot more to this than meets the eye.
21:00
I don't know when.
23:26
Right.
