Did it take a little while to get over just trying to maintain health and make sure you could get through the season and then really make sure you're throwing the ball well?

Daniel EspinoGUEST
I mean, yeah, obviously, like, first season back, there's a lot of, like, thoughts and, like, personal, like, thinking.

Daniel EspinoGUEST
And I feel like each time I'm on the mound and I get off the mound, post the out, and I kind of, like, surprise myself.

Daniel EspinoGUEST
And it got to a point during the season that I was like, okay, I'm actually doing this.

Daniel EspinoGUEST
And to me, it's really cool that obviously the results and just to be here with a big league club and just putting my little grain of salt to be able to win games and just helping.
Jim RosenhausHOST
You think back to spring training and I think your goal was to be pitching at this point in time, but how excited are you to be a part of this?

and it's september the team's independent race you think back to spring training and and i think your goal was to be pitching at this point in time but how excited are you to be a part of this

Daniel EspinoGUEST
i mean i'm super excited this is kind of like a dream come true but also not taking away that that like the vision of going day to day and getting better every day and just if we take care of today um tomorrow is going to take care of itself so just keeping personal that mentality and just having fun too baseball is a fun sport and don't taking that for granted

The reaction you receive from your teammates, what does that mean to you, teammates and coaches and everyone else involved? It means a lot.

Daniel EspinoGUEST
I've always talked about how this group of guys, how great they are and how good of a person they are.

Daniel EspinoGUEST

And were you surprised at all at the command that you had, that you weren't spraying the ball all over and that you were able to keep your delivery where it needed to be to be able to throw enough strikes to be effective?

Daniel EspinoGUEST
Yeah, I think for the last couple of months, I felt pretty good about how I'm commanding the strike zone, how I'm getting ahead, how I'm using my three pitches, the fastball, the curveball, and the slider.

Daniel EspinoGUEST
Just confident on that and leading up to yesterday, I felt that I was in a really good spot.

Daniel EspinoGUEST
Just got to continue to work and today is another day and get ready to compete and go out there and attack the zone, attack the hitter and just enjoy

Even the coaching staff and I was talking about earlier about how everybody kind of like has chipped in a little bit into my career and into my life.

Who did you lean on during that time, whether it was maybe someone out in Arizona, someone on staff, family, friends? Who did you look to for support?

But he met with the media before Friday's game to talk about how it felt to get the news that after a long, long trip through the minor leagues and injury issues, he finally made it to a Major League clubhouse.
