Simon BridgesHOST
what's been involved for you in terms of upskilling into that? Um, and also, you know, what have you, what have you learned? Would you say, I mean, I'm sure there's a heap that we, you know, have you sat down and thought about for a couple of hours, you'd have a lot, but you know, yeah, that comes to mind.

Daniel BerryGUEST
Um, you know, we, we focus a lot with our staff on the, the technical aspects, I suppose.

Daniel BerryGUEST
So they're, you know, they're, they're, they're training to be really good electricians.

Daniel BerryGUEST
Um, But there's so much more involved in, I don't know, keeping people engaged.

5:45Now, is this all related to the plastic, or we have other factors here, Dr. Berry?

Daniel BerryGUEST
Well, as-- Just to clarify for your audience, uh, particularly those that are not surgeons, there's three components usually of a knee replacement, at least two.

Daniel BerryGUEST
The so-called femoral component, which is on the thigh bone, the so-called tibial component, which is on the top of the leg bone- And then a plastic cushion in between which attaches to the lower piece, the tibial component, and there may or may not be a plastic button on the back of the kneecap.

Daniel BerryGUEST
If you look at the, uh, pieces that loosen most frequently, the tibia would be number one, and then after that, the patella and the femur are less common, but they c- also can loosen.

Daniel BerryGUEST
If the implants are cemented, they can loosen either because the implant becomes loose from the cement, or they can loosen because the cement comes loose from the bone.
M
7:05So, uh, practically in your clinical experience, at what age do you start thinking, "Yeah, I'm comfortable doing a knee replacement on you"? Do you have that age, or are you just looking at the whole picture here?
