Hmm.

In that same passage, Jesus not only spoke about prayer, he also spoke about when you fast.

So just like how we said when you pray, this is how you should, he also said, and when you fast.

So at least to Jesus as well, it was kind of expected that people would be fasting.

So fasting is seen in both testaments, but here's what I would add, that fasting should not be seen as an isolated act-

... no, we, we thank you, Lord God, that we can approach you with a freedom and a confidence.

And Lord, we understand that that's not to abuse your grace and your love, but God, it is all because of what you've done on that cross where you purified us, you declared us justified and righteous before you upon our belief in you, Father God.

So the tension, I guess, that's been created is that the Old Testament emphatically and in couple with the New Testament is very clear that there is only one God.

Yeah.

Right? So if there is one God and think of the consequences when they don't worship or honor that one God.

Yes, yes.

Why then throughout church history and even today have Christians seemingly drifted from the notion that there is only one? So think back to the early church.

the language of God denotes that it is Him, so to speak.
