Motherhood as a Portal: Breaking Intergenerational Trauma Cycles with Danik Bernier
23:06
But it's not just as simple as breaking the cycles, because they are so complex, and creating the new cycles, because we can't just do that from nowhere, right? So what does that look like in practice to really get into it when it is so big?

It's to start with whatever is presenting to you now, you know, in your body, in your relationships, in the patterns that you see kind of unfolding or how you're trying to hold yourself back from repeating certain patterns.
D
23:39Danic BernierGUEST
Whatever's happening to you right now, this is what we want to look at and work with to start, and then it's about kind of finding the overarching theme of what is presently going on for you.

Because then when we find that overarching theme, the patterns that we're trying to break and create, the relationships we've got with people, the mental health We've got and how it shows up for us in our daily lives, usually there's kind of this overarching theme for us.

And a way to kind of pinpoint possibly what it could be is to do a, a little bit as I, um, had previously shared a- around, you know, pinpointing the somatic body-based sensations and go, "If that sensation could talk to me, what would it say? What's its story? What is it carrying? What does it need me to believe in order to protect myself?" Because it's always a matter of protection, even if it comes with its consequences.
