And
33:06
so can we just talk about that for a second? Can we own it? Because once you own it, man, you can wipe it off.
33:11
You can wipe it off.
33:12
You're done.
33:13
If you don't own it, you're blaming somebody else.
33:15
You're blaming the president.
33:16
You're blaming the economy.

41:32
Right.
8:39
Tell me what you mean by that.
8:43
We often think of resilience as like a mindset.
8:45
When you hear someone describe resilience, and there's a couple words that can get thrown in here, grit, determination, uh, stubbornness, right? Um, it's that ability to stick it out until your methods match up to the moment, where you have the best ideas and plans in the world, but you don't control timing, and you never will.
9:10
None of us will.
9:11
And so your method has to meet the moment.
9:13
And so we often think of this like, but if I'm just, you know, in my head tough enough, I'll make it.
9:18
And that's just not, uh, that science tells us that's all wrong.

6 MINS LATER

15:16
You know? But that's a lot of nutrients that I'm putting into my body.
10:03
So when can overcommitment and resilience actually be a mistake and how do you distinguish what problems to actually solve them?
10:11
So without being trite, I don't think an overcommitment to resilience is ever too much.
10:17
What I do think is where it doesn't work is there's a misalignment between the words that are spoken and the lifestyle that is lived.
10:26
For example, if you're going to be resilient, it's not just a body and mind thing.
10:30
It's a financial thing.
10:31
It's a lifestyle thing.
10:33
If you're spending an outrageous amount of money a month and you say, I'm a resilient person, I'm going to stick it out.
14:14
What did you see is the best way to earn a senior executive's attention and ultimately start a sales conversation.
5:06
What was your goal with that, with a company to build it, to be like a certain and then sell it or?
5:11
Well, I knew, I knew what I didn't want was, didn't want to be I felt like there's a lot of pressure on me to have the next insight and it was so much coming at me in that 2019 2018 2020 period that I just needed some quietness I needed a moment to figure out that next big thing I knew I couldn't figure out the next big thing that was meant for me and anyone who was wanting insights or advice from me it wasn't gonna come with all of the demands of what's the next post what's the next video and What's the next class? We had awesome Palooza.
5:45
We had events.
5:46
I was, as you mentioned, I was all over the world on stages and I just knew I needed a minute to reset.
5:52
And so I sort of, as I've done throughout my life, I find something that's a challenge and I'm like, let's go do this.
5:59
And so I was already consulting.
6:01
One of the companies I was in, uh, you know, felt like it was an opportunity to do more than consulting.

It's one of the few other things I wrote down is like the post-traumatic growth or post-traumatic intelligence where you can go through some crazy adversity that you don't choose to but flip your mindset, which, of course, there's tons of ups and downs to that, to where the end result of it, it actually makes you stronger.
