No.

No, I've been doing this a long time.

I mean, again, the social media didn't exist as much when I was covering you guys, Max.

But I was the only guy that wrote about Larry getting into that barroom fight in the 85 finals when you guys lost.

And I really felt that that was newsworthy because he didn't shoot well after that.

And the Celtics didn't win the playoffs that year.

You can do four.

What does it say about how the Celtics felt about offering Jalen Brown that extension that they felt like maybe this was a better option?

I don't know.

I can't make sense of it.

You know, and I'm not, I'm not studied enough in the second apron and all of the cap permutations and this and that.

All I know is why wouldn't you just roll it back with him? You brought a Mitchell Robinson, roll it back with the two Jays, get some better players.

I thought they were positioned to make it to the finals this year.

And they were, they were the two seed and they got beat by, as you know, the Phillies, the Sixers down, Came back in 3-1.

I mean, I know your feelings on the return, but does Brad Stevens get a pass on this and sort of a wait and see how it works out?

Why?

No one likes this, and it's not good for the Celtics.

It appears that they've given up on the upcoming season.

That's how it presents to fans.

I mean, you've had this tandem of Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum for nine, ten years now, and you got to the finals once, you got to the finals twice, won the championship two years ago with Brown as your MVP, and now you've basically given him away for 40 cents on the dollar.

The fear is that the new owners, that Bill Chisholm and his guys, this is some sort of...

I don't know, money deal that ultimately saves them money.

What do we know about the state of his relationship with the team before this happened yesterday?

[laughing]

I'm grudging on that.

I mean, first of all, he did a great thing by doing the right thing, and, you know, we wrote it the day of the last game of the last season, "They need to fire the coach," and he did.

That's a hard pill to swallow, and, but he did it, and it's, it's admitting a mistake, but it's also getting back to, to the, the business of winning.

And they did it immediately, and I thought that...

So he admitted his mistake, he did it, and, uh, so we applaud that.

That's a good thing.
