Well, he's gotta distance that weapon from himself personally.

He can't be found with that weapon on him.

It's, it's too incriminating.

So he didn't wanna leave it up on the roof.

He took it with him, and he figured it w- he would gain some time by ditching it.

Thank goodness." We don't always get that.

We don't always get the executives saying the right things.

They were well-prepared.

This seems like a great opportunity to try and get the most out of all your young players and maybe in that way you get a really good player of it, out of a player you didn't really expect to get.

But I guess that's not even gonna be possible.

Yeah, I mean, I, I'm assuming, too, that this will look more like at a Olympic, uh, style format.

So, you know, maybe four games a day in each hub city, and Rogers would be, uh, broadcasting them all, whether it be all their own talent or not remains to be seen.

And then I'm assuming there'd be a heavy studio presence, so you'd go back to the studio for the intermissions.

Um, and, uh, McIntyre and Sat and I likely would be more on off days, and Cheech, for that matter, too, to do chats to analyze or maybe post-game to analyze what happened and those types of things.

Because the, the NHL, to try to keep this as safe as possible, is gonna keep the bubble as tight as possible, and you can understand why.

You don't wanna have to have extra tests for broadcasters and such.

Mm.

He keeps saying self-defense, self-defense, self-defense, but I guarantee you, if they do a DNA analysis on that rock, it's only gonna be her blood, not his.

I can't see any situation where she posed a threat to him.

It just doesn't make any sense.

All the facts of this case are so heavily in favor of her statement and the statement of the son who he confessed to.

This is not a career criminal.

This is a guy who in a moment of emotion or in many moments of emotion, very well premeditated acts, prepared himself to kill her that day on this hike.

She is alive and alert on the body cam giving statements after the fact, which is something you don't always get with somebody who's injured as badly as she is.

But what would you bring up with the first wife, the one that's a sex worker?

There's no way he didn't leave a trail.

Absolutely.

His cell phone is gonna be pinging off cell sites all along that route, and if you look at it on a map, you can trace his route.

He's also probably having to stop for gas, bathroom breaks, whatever it is along the way.

So he left a footprint.

He made purchases.

He got food.

It appears he planned more of what to do rather than the aftermath of it.

What are your thoughts on the way that the Pima County Sheriff's Department handled this, uh, from the outset, including that new information John Di Pietro shared with us about, uh, perhaps the discouragement of offering that big reward early on?

Well, let me start out by saying that hindsight is 20/20, and I don't like to always play Monday morning quarterback on everything law enforcement does.

I don't think that's fair.

I do think, however, that there have been some missteps, and I think initially the response to the scene and the noticing of the blood should have been indicative of a violent crime, not just a missing person.

So perhaps they started off on the wrong trajectory by labeling it as such and letting the world in on what was going on without trying to keep a lid on it more than they could have potentially.

Secondly, releasing the crime scene as early as they did allowed for higher scrutiny of any evidence that is re- recovered at that scene after, when they had to go back.

So that became problematic for any future case, should there be one.

Um, how much does this technician's work matter overall to the big case?

Uh, Sergeant Murphy, do you think that there's much hope for that, for genealogical DNA testing here?

Certainly.

There's always hope for it.

It, it depends upon what happens in the, in the near future.

There might be an arrest of someone.

Uh, there might be a collection of, of evidence from a scene, some other place that comes through.

There could be something in the pipeline right now, just hasn't made its way into the system.
