6:17
Yeah.
6:17
OK.
6:18
So my whole thing is if you want, you can go on my YouTube, and I give away 100% of everything I know.
6:24
It's free.
6:25
Go nuts.
6:26
300 plus videos, and I add a new one every week, and I will for the next probably another six years.
6:30
I gave myself a decade.

6 MINS LATER

12:55
What can we currently offer now is different from what we could theoretically offer in a year.
80:57
Dan opened up about why he wrote the book and his own growth journey.
81:01
I wrote the book because I've been an entrepreneur for 25 years.
81:05
Entrepreneurship literally saved my life.
81:07
I talk about at the beginning of the book, I, I grew up in a alcoholic family, ended up in getting in trouble, and had a whole chaotic side to my life where I ended up in prison twice by the age of 17.
81:18
And luckily, through some really incredible people showing up in my life at the right times, um, I made it through this really dark period.
81:26
Being better to build our business, 'cause really that's what entrepreneurship is about.
81:30
If you want your company to grow, you have to grow.

5 MINS LATER

86:44
How do you help people get over the idea that, you know, you do have to delegate, uh, if, if you want to be able to buy back your time, and then also the fact that it's okay if, if they don't do it 100% as well as you do?
3:02
Yeah, but why wouldn't they like yours the most? Well, I
3:04
mean, how about the first one? The first one, most moms are going to be like, no effing way.
3:08
That's ridiculous.
3:09
I can't believe you say that to your kids.
3:11
But since they were little... five, six, seven years old, I've told them at 17, you're out of my house.
3:18
Like pack your bags, get ready for it, plan for it.
3:22
You got to get out of my house.

6 MINS LATER

9:52
You're welcome.
16:41
Come on.
16:42
Okay.
16:43
Number five.
16:45
My next one would be...
16:48
Oh, you trust your gut a lot.
16:51
I'm very analytical in my decision-making.
16:54
Like I have spreadsheets, formulas, analysis.

11 MINS LATER

28:14
Oh, explain.
13:29
Danae.
13:29
Dan's life.
13:31
And then there's a sacred union.
13:33
Essentially, our relationship has the opportunity to stand for something.
13:37
I look at it as us going way to work on that in that relationship.
13:42
has a vision, right? We have our vision for our relationship that we've written out in regards to being an inspiration for other couples to strive to do big things.
13:52
We start with that, just talk about it.

16 MINS LATER

29:58
Let the freak flow.
5:53
What do you think that would have done for you? You
5:56
know, I, because of the, you know, the environment I grew up in, like cars wasn't even, I didn't grow up, you know, those kids that grew up with posters.
6:04
I didn't even have that.
6:05
Cause like, it was so far of a concept that when I look back at like that 12 year old version of me, that was just like lost and didn't feel like he had any value.
6:17
I mean, there was days where I didn't even feel like I should be breathing the air.
6:21
Like it was, it was pretty dark and If I reflect on that and I think about what would have happened if somebody, again, a caring adult just showed up in my life at 12, 13 years old, put me in a car, told me that I had value, that I was creative, whatever they saw in me, whatever they wanted to share, I think that that would have...
6:42
Because the messenger matters.
8:06
What advice would you give someone that wants to give back but doesn't know how? I'm embarrassed to tell you
2:57
So what do you got, Dan?
2:59
Um, we're gonna talk about raising kids and kind of our philosophies.
3:03
The first thing I've got is the idea that if we don't allow our childrens to fail, then they won't learn how to be winners.
3:11
And most people don't realize that winners are just fail- failures that didn't stop, right? Think, think about this.
3:19
I always go back to no pressure, no diamonds.
3:21
So in, I think, Max's room, there's a poster.
3:24
Or was, he redesigned his room.

15 MINS LATER

18:13
[laughs]
1:31
Can we, c- can we, can we actually talk about what down, went down with the cops at 15 years old?
1:35
Yeah.
1:35
I mean, long story short, I, you know, I grew up in a pretty challenging environment and got introduced to drugs at 13 and just became kind of a crazy addict and just, you know, didn't have a lot of self-worth, didn't, um, didn't believe in myself at all or had any vision for my life.
1:53
And I ended up, uh, stealing a car, and I got in a high-speed chase with the police and told myself before I stole the car I was gonna, you know, pull the gun if I got pulled over and let the cops do their job.
2:04
And I ended up taking a, a routine, uh... just a exit off the highway, and there was a routine roadblock, and I ended up gunning past it and got in a high-speed chase.
2:12
And when I, um, eventually came into this neighborhood going way too fast and crashed into the side of a house, I went for the gun, and for whatever reason, it got stuck, and kept pulling on it.
2:25
And eventually, the cops pulled me out of the car and, you know, I woke up sober the next morning wondering what my life was gonna look like, and wasn't good.

17 MINS LATER

19:19
Why are they doing that? And, and my question for you is, because you've done a lot of coaching in this space, when they finally get what they wanted, do they actually get what they wanted?
LorenzAUDIENCE
30:10
it.
30:11
And that's what happened to me.
30:13
I knew I wanted to create content.
30:14
I knew I had to learn how to communicate.
30:16
I knew that was my next level as an entrepreneur.
30:19
but I refused it.
30:20
Here's how much I refused it.

6 MINS LATER

DavidAUDIENCE
36:33
Hmm.
27:53
funny what you got
27:54
this is my last one that i'm excited for yours um but i really think that um the big idea is you have to bring the visions together, okay? So my philosophy is this.
28:13
If I have a vision for my life and I don't know the vision for your life and I don't bring your vision into my vision, like if we don't co-create, this is where people get totally, it's like, I thought you wanted a house in Italy.
28:25
They're like, no, I wanted you home at dinner every night at six o'clock.
28:28
It's like, see what I'm saying? Yeah.
28:30
So I learned a long time ago that it's really important for us to both have our independent, like we have to have a vision for what we want to create.
28:40
And they're separate because I need to know what you want to create with life.
30:03
Oh yeah.
4:35
Really?
4:36
Oh.
4:38
The wildest realization that this earth has been around before I showed up and will be here after I leave, and it is the coolest, like the sun is the earth breathing every day, right? And just like all these like just things.
4:55
So I would challenge anybody listening, because it's easy to s- to, to, to stay busy.
5:03
Even when we work is almost like a way to distract ourselves from trying to discover our purpose.
5:08
All that, right? So I went through all that, the achievement, you know, challenges, but there was still a part of me that could not find that in him by himself.
6:02
Uh-huh
6:02
...
24:14
Okay.
24:14
And a, a couple books[ding] This podcast is supported by Ring.
24:21
With Ring, it's protected.
24:22
You know those moments when you're expecting a package and you're not home, and you're thinking about it all day, wondering if it's just sitting out there.
24:28
That's something I think about, especially with how often we're ordering things for the house, and this is where Ring comes in.
24:33
Keep track of packages and see more at the front door with battery doorbell.
24:37
And honestly, Ring has been a game changer for me.

51 MINS LATER

75:56
Okay.
48:18
Hmm.
48:18
So I think the first thing any person, no matter where they're at, doesn't matter how much money they have or have nothing, they can decide, "Hey, in the last hour, did I focus on opportunity? Did I focus on gratitude? Did I focus on abundance? Or was I complaining? Was I seeing the, the downside of my situation?" Like, one question I ask myself a dozen times a day, Lewis.
48:39
I've never told anybody this.
48:42
Anytime I feel any lack, and it happens all, all the time, uh, frustration, you know, I meant to be somewheres on time, I'm running late, or, you know, uh, my driver, something happened, I always go to this question.
48:56
"How can I appreciate even more God's grace and guidance in this moment?"

11 MINS LATER

60:05
Mm-hmm.
60:05
How do we use it to help other people? Right? We're stewards of it.
60:10
If you see other people that are rich and you're upset that... evil people, and you're like, "They're rich?" then go be rich.
4:49
Yeah, yeah.
4:49
Yeah, that language has the expectation of failure built into it.
4:54
So, so that's the, the, the limitation beliefs.
4:57
And then on the other side of the coin of the outcome is the negative belief.
5:00
So what's the negative belief that keeps people broke? The rich people are evil.
5:04
There's no chance you're gonna wake up to try to be rich if you believe rich people are evil-

7 MINS LATER

11:41
Right.
11:41
That's the way I think about it.
