Just to the right of the path are two big black bags containing massive lumps of stone, which is pale gray and slightly silvery in color.

Dan GoodwinsGUEST
So these are particularly large stones that we've, uh, flown in here by helicopter.

Dan GoodwinsGUEST
So the larger ones suit better as these stepping stones that we've got going across this wet piece of land here, and people will be very glad, uh, not to have wet feet.

Dan GoodwinsGUEST
And also in terms of erosion, it's, uh, narrowing this point, and yeah, it's not causing more and more erosion towards this sensitive area that we've got.

But what we try to do as much as possible is try to keep those sort of original, historic names.

Dan GoodwinsGUEST
Yeah, so the name of the, of the lake is believed to come from the story of this big, um, gray stag that was being hunted and chased, and, uh, it jumped into the lake to try and get away from the, from the hunters.
