What is the mechanic here and why does it matter for the way that lenders really operate?

I mean, back leverage is sort of like the lifeblood of the lending industry to a degree, obviously aside from the investor allocations.

But banks providing leverage against loans is allowing managers to essentially hit their return targets.

It's something that seems to be, from what I was hearing at the Crefcy conference, you know, very ingrained in the US sector.

Banks seem to be coming back to lend directly, but they're still very much lending loan on loan style facilities to managers.

Now, in the European market, back leverage wasn't really the way things were done until relatively recently.

in the last few years, and mainly because US-based non-bank lenders have been taking more market share, so bringing it with them, the culture has sort of grown in Europe, and it's become a big talking point.
