4:49
Can you tell, uh, how that's going so far?
4:53
Yeah, we, we can.
4:54
Uh, we've been, you know, shoot, uh, corn harvest it seems like started right around Labor Day in, in areas.
4:59
Of course, we didn't see much of that here at the river market for sure.
5:02
But, uh, y- you know, I think, uh, guys in west central Illinois and southeast Iowa, uh, as well would tell you that, uh, that is in line.
5:11
I mean, 5 to 15% less than, than last year.
5:15
Uh, we had some areas, uh, the last year you gotta remember too that were hit by rust pretty hard on the Illinois side in particular.
7:54
You know, is there anything to that necessarily? Is this any kind of support area? Do you think we might be in a range where we might find ourselves being in a range here, at least for a little while?
17:55
Are you, uh, also encouraging to get a start on twenty twenty-seven crop, just with locking in inputs and stuff and kinda getting some
18:00
someYeah, I think, I think it's, y- y- you know, from a conservative and prudent standpoint, they're talking about the values and, and the need to lock in those input costs.
18:11
Um, so if you're doing that, uh, I, I mean, it just goes hand in hand.
18:15
I, I think you see opportunities and, and start making decisions on your acreage mix, uh, on each farm that you need to go in there and lock some of the, the crop in, um, the price-wise too.
18:27
And, and I think that's, you know, one thing I'd comment, you know, we've got some guys on the, on the '26 crop.
18:31
You know, we bought a lot of corn in the 460 to 490 area, y- you know, because they had all their inputs.
18:37
They knew what their cost was.

30 MINS LATER

48:33
I guess, where do we go from here?
13:30
Yeah [laughs]
13:31
...
13:31
if it's gonna be six hours, six years, six months, or, or change, uh, when they want it to.
13:36
I, y- y- you know, that's, the strait is obviously affecting y- you know, the oil situation as much as anything.
13:42
Maybe not so much the grain side of it, but more the Russia-Ukraine situation affecting the grain side of it, wheat and corn particularly.
13:49
And, you know, one thing to remember on that situation is the stocks are still there.
13:53
The production has still been there.
14:49
Mm-hmm
15:14
And here's Freeport lawyer Dan Bowman again.
15:18
The Bre-X deal caused a lot of losses, including Indonesian interests who had invested money and also political capital in making the transaction happen.
15:28
So there would've been a lot of people who were, uh, very angry about what had happened, and, uh, it was clearly intentional.
15:36
I mean, they, they mixed the gold in, and that was proved.
15:39
So there would've been some motive for someone to murder him?
15:44
I think if anybody was involved in de Guzman's death, it would've been somebody who had a direct financial detriment because of his actions.
15:53
Obviously, you can't accuse anybody of murder, but, uh, I think that, uh, he certainly would've been brought to justice had he not fallen out of the helicopter because he had violated many, many laws in Indonesia, and it was a fraud on the shareholders and the other stakeholders for sure.
