Yeah

...

they communicate to the Wi-Fi access point one at a time in turn.
1:37
Um, so and this is not new with Wi-Fi 6, 6E, or 7.
1:41
It's been around for a while, but something called MIMO or MIMO, depending on how you pronounce it, but that's multi-in, multi-out.
1:48
So what that means is that the Wi-Fi access point has multiple antennas in it, and it can talk to multiple devices at once.
1:57
So you might see a, a two by two, which means it can talk in, in, uh, transmit and receive to two devices.

Dan, can you help us out with the, uh, the basics of how it all works?
0:34
Yeah.
0:34
So I think everybody understands with Wi-Fi you have two fundamental things, one being an access point that connects your wired network, uh, to the air, and then your devices, your laptops, phones, whatever it is that you wanna connect through Wi-Fi.
0:49
Um, some of the things that, where we get into, uh, that are important with testing is understanding the fundamentals of, um, how Wi-Fi works.
0:57
So I'll talk about frequency bands a little bit, but I think one of the first misconceptions is that all of the devices are talking to the access point at the same time, and Wi-Fi is a shared media.
1:10
So all of the devices are actually waiting their turn to talk, and the access point controls, um, which device it's talking to.
1:18
So if I have 20 devices connected to one access point, each one of those devices gets a time slot to go and transmit and receive some information, and then they wait for the other 19 until it's their turn to come back again and do that over and over and over.

What, what, what do you need in a report? What constitutes a good report?
