Before we get stuck into the paper that we've just published in the Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Women's Health, could you set the scene a little and outline the original SUMMIT intervention, the rationale for undertaking the study, and an overview of the intervention itself.

Daisy SinglaGUEST
So obviously we both have a passion for improving access to these effective talk therapies for perinatal depression and anxiety.

Daisy SinglaGUEST
And so the premise of Summit is not does psychotherapy work, but really to ask who can deliver psychotherapy How can it be delivered? And how can we get it to many people without compromising quality? I would say those were three big questions.

Daisy SinglaGUEST
And so it was this idea of redesigning how evidence-based talk therapies could be delivered rather than creating new ones.

Daisy SinglaGUEST
And so the basic premise of SUMMIT, which stands for scaling up maternal mental health care by increasing access to treatment, that's a mouthful, so I'm just going to stick with SUMMIT.

Daisy SinglaGUEST
Every clinical guideline globally suggests that psychotherapies, talk therapies are the first line treatment to address this extremely common problem.
