I tell parents that all, all the time because it is.

If you have to bring in the contract to force somebody to do something, that legal agreement is the lowest possible standard for how we're going to treat each other, and it establishes whose baby is this, um, unless you go to a different state where that legal agreement is no longer valid to circumvent whose baby this is.

Um, it establishes whose baby is this, and it establishes who's gonna pay who what money.

But it is not the roadmap for how we treat each other.

And if we come in with that of like, "This is my power and this is my leverage," that's not a good match.

At that moment, we know that's not a good match.
