Something that happened in 2020, COVID came.

My husband is a police officer.

He was working all the riots, so he was busy after work all the time.

And my husband's mom, who was a Democratic senator in Illinois, wasn't really comfortable being put into a hospice situation.

So we did hospice at home, but she was diagnosed with ALS during COVID.

And because I was furloughed from my job, I was able to jump in and actually help her to the end.
