Courtney YoungloveGUEST
After finishing my residency, I joined a private practice where I became partner after a couple of years and worked in that private practice for about 15 years.

Courtney YoungloveGUEST
Over the course of that practice, I became interested in obesity medicine, got boarded in 2014 and opened up a small little cash practice on the side while I was still practicing OBGYN full time and really just fell madly in love with the field.

Courtney YoungloveGUEST
eventually told my partners that that's what I wanted to be when I grew up and it didn't go over very well.

Courtney YoungloveGUEST
So I did some work and hung a shingle and left my job and started the first insurance-based obesity medicine practice in the Kent City area, which was super fun and in hindsight, very reckless, but it worked and it just checked all the buckets of what I wanted to be when I grew up.
