Most recent role, director of global supply chain in D.C. at the National Security Council.
13:42
Yes, the National Security Council as well.
13:45
Prior in this administration was a senior advisor and policy to Secretary Rollins and Deputy Secretary Vaden, focused on trade policy and food safety policy.
13:57
This has been my second time in Washington and just really have enjoyed working with and for USDA throughout my career.
14:04
And it's kind of similar to what I do now.
14:06
I get to advise farmer members with the great expertise of our staff on options for how we invest these dollars.
14:14
So similar, even though it's a very different setting, this one much more preferable back in the Midwest.

Talk about how you're furthering that effort and especially, um, trying to keep that resilience in the market.
36:24
market.Yeah, our export, uh, strategy it's, it's highly in partnership with the US Soybean Export Council.
36:31
They are excellent at what they do.
36:33
Uh, they have seen actually for quite a while the diversification of markets.
36:37
Also, how can we add value beyond price? How can we, uh, do further processing at home before it's exported in the shape of full beans? We're seeing extreme, you know, acceleration in our meal exports, for example, different uses of oil, and we'll continue to do that just the same as we will do with our domestic demand, growing that, the use and application of US soy in multiple products, both consumed by livestock, consumed by people, but other uses like the bio-based market.
37:06
So it's a very exciting time that's all driven with our strategic partners in the execution of our programs.
37:12
But it's a changing world, it's a con- changing consumer.

How are you gonna continue to grow on that?
9:03
Now, Michelle Rook was able to speak to Knupp one on one, and she asked Knupp what she sees as the biggest opportunities for expansion and new uses of soybeans.
9:12
Bio-based products by far.
9:14
Uh, there are so many items where soy can be a key input that we use each and every day, uh, replacing petroleum-based items, for example, and that's where I see a big future.
9:25
Uh, same with biomanufacturing.
