Cormorants

One of the many reasons to both watch the movie Master and Commander and to read Far Side of the World came in really useful.

Cormorant was a vocabulary word for my son.

And the only reason I knew what a cormorant was is because I heard it in Stephen Maturin's voice in my head.

It's the only reason I knew.

Tonight's story, The Affair of the Politician, The Lighthouse, and the Trained Cormorant, comes from The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, the long-running radio series that brought the great detective to millions of listeners during radio's golden age.

In this 1947 broadcast, John Stanley stars as Sherlock Holmes with Alfred Shirley as Dr. Watson.

And the script, rich with intrigue, atmosphere, and clever twists, was written by Edith Miser, the woman who first brought Holmes to American radio and helped define his voice for an entire generation.

why I prefer it is the pacing it's In this meta, I like the pacing better because most people, when they're playing against my Cormorant, obviously the strategy becomes, how can I fast attack down? Because I don't want to throw anything and get a missile in my face.

So being able to spam the dives faster, even if I'm not getting the Gulp Missile damage, still, I think that's a little bit nicer.
