Yeah.

In the beginning of working and opening up houses, we didn't get paid.

We- there was no money in it.

We were losing money, if anything.

My mom was investing money, and she would lose it, and we were giving free beds to anybody who needed it because we just wanted to help.

That was the beginning, probably the first two years, and then all of a sudden, like, we contracted with some state agencies that paid for people, and checks started flowing and money started flowing, and five, seven years later, like, the money really started flowing, and I opened up another business, a tattoo shop that my wife currently manages, and we had a salon and all these other kind of little business models came up out of it and, um, bought a house, got married, had two kids, had toys, boats, quads, you name it, new cars.

Yeah.

I want you to articulate a day or a night that you can recall that, that just sort of haunts you as you look back.

[sighs] Um, when I was 17, I started snorting heroin, and I knew what I was doing.

Um, the guys around me were doing it.

But I remember- Taking a half day off school, going over to my buddy's house, and I remember the, it was the first time this had ever happened.

We, it was a big farmhouse out in the middle of the country.

Nobody was there.

It was him, uh, two, two of my friends and myself, and we were in this farmhouse, and the two of them were downstairs.

So how long does this stint of alcoholism last this time?

Who was

he? He's a pastor who lives down there.

I didn't know him.

He's just a random dude for me at this point.

About a week later, I go to rehab and I was in there for, again, about eight to 10 days, something like that.

And I get out and this is when, dude, I was going to AA.

This is probably two days after I got out of rehab.
