But it hasn't been an excessive number of procedural penalties, pre-snap, or holdings.
3:18
I'm n- I'm not exactly sure what to make of, of the actual personnel on Nebraska's defensive line, um, yet.
3:25
Th- although they have proven through six games of the season that they can, they could cause some chaos up front.
3:31
I mean, they, they will, they will get after the quarterback.
3:34
It doesn't necessarily come from the defensive line, but obviously when, when, you know, your offensive line has struggled, you're gonna have to communicate with blitzes coming from wherever.
3:42
And that's what Rob Ulrich likes to do, especially if he's going to see, uh, you know, a drop back quarterback who's sitting back in the pocket.
3:49
So, um, Nebraska will roll out, um, a couple of different looks, I guess, with the front four, w- front three or four.

22 MINS LATER

25:46
What have you seen this year? If you were a DC, how would you defend him?
5:54
But that's something that is going to be in the back of the mind of whoever lines up behind center when the first quarter starts.
6:01
Yeah, the backs were definitely already up against the wall, but now they truly are for Oregon.
6:06
It's a great lesson.
6:06
It's another thing that we talked about last time we talked.
6:09
Like Nebraska's schedule was a real challenge.
6:14
The way people looked at it this off season, this stretch right here, Indiana at home, and then going out to Oregon.
6:20
What we didn't know is it'd be a 10 PM local time kickoff, Nebraska.

10 MINS LATER

16:26
done it all year.
4:17
What do you feel the best about so far? Like through the first four games, what's like really encouraged you?
4:24
I think the, the Calandria in Gilmer connection has been there almost every single game or every single game, I guess.
4:32
And that's something that, I think you can feel really good about just Calandria in general, kind of how he hasn't really put the ball in harm's way.
4:40
I don't know that we expect that he hasn't been in a whole lot of pressure situations, but there was a couple in, you know, in Ohio when it was close in the middle portion of the game, you feel like, or in Michigan state, when it's going against you a little bit, I feel like he's been there to kind of drag you out a little bit, whether it's been third down conversions or, or running the ball or, you know, even scoring a touchdown on the ground.
5:04
I feel like he's made a couple of those plays and you'll start to see that show up more and more as Nebraska gets into tighter games.
5:12
And I think the offensive line has really been solid.
5:15
Paving the way for the run game.

13 MINS LATER

18:05
Is there anything that stands out or has even surprised you in that regard?
13:05
What's your instant reaction to that?
13:07
I'd say that's a pretty common sentiment.
13:09
Uh, you know, one of the things this off-season is, as you mentioned, it's, it's kind of been quiet, um, around here, which is not particularly, you know...
13:17
That, that doesn't always happen.
13:18
And sometimes there's, you know, big things that get people excited and, and this year there just really hasn't been, and so they- they've been quiet around here.
13:26
And, and because of that, um, and because of the year they had last year, it was a dud to end the season, just nobody's really got out on a limb for them.
13:33
Like, you, you don't hear any of the national talkers sitting there like, "Yeah, I, I think this is the year it finally pops," and they go, and they go 10-2 or something like that.
15:10
So before we get to the, the, the quarterback play and, and where that could put them with the schedule, from a roster standpoint around the quarterback position, do you think this Nebraska team went forward, went in reverse, or stayed in neutral?
3:55
And so how do you feel about how things have gone so far with the College World Series and what stood out for you?
4:02
to add to those, I mean, we knew, we knew Oklahoma was full of them coming in.
4:06
And so they just went out and through cord rigor and, and Xander Mercurius who got him through what, like 17 innings with, you know, in great position and they're both freshmen.
4:18
They brought another freshman to back it up.
4:20
And then Glauber from, from North Carolina, who is supposed to be in high school right now.
4:25
And he's just like pumping 97 against, you know, against West Virginia and the winners bracket game.
4:31
which is awesome.
6:58
you?
13:15
What was your reaction when this schedule came out? Because yikes, man.
13:19
So last year in 2025, it was pretty well set up for them.
13:25
And they, for the most part, with the exception of the Minnesota game, did what they were supposed to do.
13:30
They almost beat Michigan at home in the early portion of the season.
13:33
People were thinking, hey, if they can somehow pull off a win in that game with a big crowd and all that stuff, then there's a way where they head into that USC game at home What would it be? Eight? No.
13:45
Seven? No.
13:46
Eight? No.
14:40
When did Tennessee do that? I must have missed that.
