Colossi of Memnon

So what do travelers see there on the west bank of the Nile?

Yeah, we usually take them to start with the Colossi of Memnon.

So these are two massive stone statues that once guarded a mortuary temple.

From there, they're going to go to the temple of Queen Hatshepsut there at Deir el-Bahari.

They're huge.

They're as big as the Colossi of Memnon in Luxor.

So anyhow, uh, long story short, uh, I, I was like, okay, Watson, what are we going to do? How many pieces are there that I can focus on? And we came up with a top 15 of unusual colossi.

Thankfully I have seen most of them, uh, and I've photographed most of them.
