So how did you get started in the field of communications? And what was it that made you take the leap into public service from your radio career? And also as a

side, was it terrifying? Like so many people, it started in high school on the speech and debate team.

There was a category called radio speaking.

I don't know if that resonates with either of you or anyone who's listening, but I competed while in high school and got a lot of attention, did really well and thought maybe there's something here for me.

So I majored in radio TV in college and eventually landed at a radio group in Springfield, Illinois.

And when I was initially in Springfield, I was doing both the morning show.

I was the news chick on Steve and Joey in the morning on an oldie station.

So I trust you to handle it.
