I was trying to work with one nonprofit, but then went with Connecticut Foodshare, and so the thing came together eventually where Connecticut Foodshare agreed to be the, the recipient of at least the awareness campaign.

And so I designed the slice.

I made it so it said The Pizza State, and it took about 11 months for us to do it, and then DMV, you know, h- has a lot of, uh- strict rules that they have to have to make this work.

Um, and we got through all that.

Yes.

Designed in 1638, it's the country's first planned city, and home to Yale University and some legendary coal-fired pizza.

I love this town.

It's entertaining.

It's like a big hug.

I think what this town does more than any other place I've ever been, is it gives you that feeling of instant community.

He says the Italiana-inspired dish is baked into the town's deep food culture.

We call New Haven pizza apizza, A-P-I-Z-Z-A.
