EP. 1379 - REAL ESTATE MYTHS “True, False or It Depends?” Property rental myths.
1:51

Mark NovakHOST
Uh, myth one, once my lease end, uh, uh, date arrives, I can simply move out that day without giving notice.
C
2:03Cleo WhittyGUEST
[laughs] You have to give notice, even if your contract's ending or comes up for an end.
C
2:09Cleo WhittyGUEST
So doesn't mean the contract just automatically terminates at the end of that lease date.
C
2:15Cleo WhittyGUEST
You're giving the owner 14 days notice prior to that, that you're gonna move out at the end of that lease, or if you wait for that date, um, on the day and you say, "I'm moving out," you then have to give the owner 21 days if you let that date lapse.
EP. 1734 - The office SURVIVAL guide
2:04

Mark NovakHOST
What? What? What? And so how can you not know that microwaving fish is going to stink out our entire office?
EP. 1729 - TENANTS SMART RESIDENTIAL BONDS ……ARE IN!!!!!! OOFFF
C
5:38Cleo WhittyGUEST
Yeah, they're going to transfer their bond to the new approved property before they've moved out, 100%.
C
5:45Cleo WhittyGUEST
And then what's going to happen is, I love how they say the word approved claim.
C
5:51Cleo WhittyGUEST
So when an agent now has a bond claim, in place and they do an outgoing and they know there's going to be a conflict.
C
6:00Cleo WhittyGUEST
What that agent will do is they will claim an amount straight away before the tenant because a lot of the time going to end cuts and nuisance and for the sake of say $300, the tenant will go, you know what, I'm not fighting the agent.
C
6:13Cleo WhittyGUEST
they can have the 300, right? So if it's a big amount, of course, you're going to, or any amount, you're going to justify it.
C
6:21Cleo WhittyGUEST
But sometimes it's a race to who's going to put that first claim in, because the first person that puts the claim in is the applicant.
EP. 1724 - BEFORE THE TRAFFIC!!! - NORTHERN BEACHES NOSTALGIA
C
7:56Cleo WhittyGUEST
I know places like the tram shed at Narrabeen and things that are very, very heritage, you know, but there's still other properties that we have that, you know, it'd be a shame to knock down and rebuild.
C
8:08Cleo WhittyGUEST
I'm sure every suburb, Manly in particular, would be, you know, almost every second street, second, you know, building must have some kind of links to being heritage, but...
C
8:22Cleo WhittyGUEST
Yeah, I really think that it makes up, you know, part of our culture on the beaches, having these properties to remind us, you know, certain iconic places like the old sands that got, you know, pretty much bulldozed and redone, redeveloped for someone that grew up in the area.
EP. 1679 Open Homes: What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
C
2:15Cleo WhittyGUEST
There's always something that can arise at an open home that leaves you unprepared or guessing or laughing or just in pure shock.
