Claudia, what do you think undergraduate research opportunities offer to students that research skills-based courses throughout their program perhaps might
10:34
not? From my experience, I would say one of the big things is you have the opportunity to research something that you're interested in and something that directly aligns to your interests.
10:50
And you have that freedom to explore whatever you want.
10:54
From my experience, I've sometimes, you know, taken a bit of a tangent on the main topic and did my own exploring and it's been wonderful.
11:02
So that freedom and also that sense of accomplishment, you know, you did this entire project yourself and you can feel really proud about what you've done and what you've learned.
11:15
Another really big thing that you get which I from my experience have is a really good sense of community I think from all my research like internships or projects that I've done with my university it's been in like a group and it's all like a group of students have participated in it and it's resulted in this community of people and And we all still like stay in contact and we all share that love and passion for research.
11:44
And like, you know, I still have friends from these projects and these internships that I talk with.
12:39
Have you noticed, like, a big difference in the takeaways?
