And why don't you tell us specifically about the 298 court, what it does, what kind of cases come through there? Sure.
23:31
In Dallas County, like in all the major urban counties, like Harris County and Travis County and Bexar County, They have sliced up the jurisdiction of district courts.
23:44
So you have criminal district courts, you have family law district courts, and you have civil district courts.
23:48
The 298th is a civil district court.
23:51
I would be, if I get elected, I'll be the fifth judge to be on that court.
23:54
It's not that old court.
23:56
People tend to sit on that bench for a long time.

But tell us, why are judges, good judges, constitutional judges,
17:16
so important? Because the fight starts at the trial court level.
17:22
And if you have somebody who's already inclined to go against the values that this country was founded on...
17:28
it doesn't work okay i started out as a judge advocate my father was 30 years in the army as a colonel uh world war ii vet korea vietnam cold war for me sorry there was nothing going on but i served because you should and uh and i want to serve on the bench because i want to bring common sense back to the courtroom there just isn't any and and uh Every day when I walk out of a courtroom, I say, that's reason number 536 why I'm running for judge.
