Um, I was, uh, I was supposed to be court-martialed, but after it was explained to the Commissioner of Police and he understood what I was doing, that was waived.

So I came to Sint Maarten and, um, got a job, um, first in a liquor store delivering, um, booze.

And then after that, I, I, I got a job at the Forest Supermarket being the main checker, because the Forest Supermarket, um, was the largest supermarket on the island at the time, and they were the agent for Heineken Beer and, um, other major products.

So every month the boat come in to bring product, I was the person who was responsible to ensure that what was ordered was received, and going to the bank and ensure that the monies were paid and stuff like that.

Um, and then in 1973, uh, I decided to, uh, to leave that job and join the Mullet Bay, um, Resort at the time.

Was the largest hotel on the island.

So I would love you to share with us a bit about Carnival and your role in it, but also what you want visitors to know about Carnival so you, they are drawn here to share this amazing culture that is such a deeply ingrained in the island.
