Killian, what are we looking at here?
11:39
Well, where are we? We're on the slopes of Ootmalara, and we're looking out over the Burren.
11:46
All around us, the limestone terraces.
11:49
And we've come up high enough to be sitting on what's really the most characteristic vegetation of the Burren.
11:56
There are two plants right beside us.
11:58
The first is the very famous spring gentian, with its electric bloom, which is very hard to paint. For a slightly technical reason, the blue is partly caused by light being emitted from the gentian.
12:15
So it's not just reflective, and it's very hard to duplicate that when you're painting or even taking photographs.
14:24
And with beautiful terraces here, can you explain how, how these emerged?
