What does hobby-maxxing do to the brain?

Ciara McCabeGUEST
So the way the reward system works, as I always explain to my students, it's kind of like the bear in the forest, he might come across something really rewarding, like berries or food or honey or whatever.
Ciara McCabeGUEST
So that is the moment pleasure and that's what keeps us motivated to keep going back so for example the next day the bear is going to go back to the same place to look and see if he can find it again so the reward system is not just about in the moment the pleasure but also then all the systems that are built around that to keep us motivated, to keep us getting up in the morning, to get us to go to work, to still feel anticipation about the day and not just those moments of pleasure.

Adam FlemingHOST
What do you think is going on there in the brain of the hobby maxer or could be going on?
