2:00
Can you tell us a little bit about how Quicksilver was born?
2:05
Yeah.
2:05
You know, it's a real sort of like a windy path.
2:08
I grew up in a steel town.
2:09
I had a mouthful of amalgam, so I was very metal exposed.
2:12
And quicksilver is the old word for mercury.
2:15
It means liquid silver, and so we were originally a metal detox company.

20:47
... at the time, but down the road.
5:02
That's really kind of like, it sounds great, but what do you have to do to do
5:05
it? Yeah, so usually you do it twice a day.
5:08
You can do it once a day because you're starting at lower doses and you're working up over weeks to months to higher doses.
5:16
So you'll take this stuff called liver sauce, we named it simply, and that has stuff that goes to the cells and activates a trigger called Nrf2, which is pushing toxins out of the cells into circulation and Other parts of the formula are calming your immune system so those toxins don't wind up inflammation because inflammation is a break on detox.
5:41
So you're mobilizing it through.
5:42
Then there's other aspects in there that open up the liver and dump the bile.
5:46
So you take the liver sauce and you might take glutathione with it to feed the process.

11:04
So how does particle size determine whether a compound actually reaches the cell versus being broken down into stomach acid itself?
2:03
So when did you start this brand? Because you're the founder and CEO, and you've always been the founder and CEO, correct?
2:09
Yeah.
2:10
So we started a long time ago, and we started in 2006 as a company, but first we were doing environmental testing.
2:17
Quicksilver and Quicksilver Scientific is the old European word for mercury.
2:21
It means liquid silver.
2:22
My PhD was in global mercury recycling and mercury biogeochemistry, and I developed this testing that specialized for separating forms of mercury, and I brought it into the medical world.
2:34
So first we were doing environmental, and then we had the economic crash around 2008, 2009.

27 MINS LATER

29:42
Right.
2:02
Oh, wow.
2:03
Uh, and that's also, you know, what makes it worse during perimenopause and menopause, if you've got the estrogen-progesterone, uh, mismatch, where you're estrogen dominant, and the metals are happening there at the same time, you get a really ex- you know, accentuated, all the anxiety and the irritability gets real bad.
2:25
Uh, so metals do that, and then the fatigue is their effect on the mitochondria.
2:30
So metals really knock out the mitochondria, and so your metabolism gets, uh, weaker.
2:35
You know, people have a harder time losing weight.
2:37
They have a harder time exercising.
2:40
Uh, energy-wise, it also affects, uh, adrenals.

5 MINS LATER

7:51
Yeah.
