um but why do we need an ems reading list

so um this project fits in really nicely with what the consortium and chris you've you've really been spearheading this in now three editions to identify through several systematic reviews, what evidence-based guidelines exist out there to guide pre-hospital care, whether that is for the individual practitioners when they're seeing a patient, whether that's for their medical directors developing protocols, and even more broadly.

That said, we know from our systematic reviews, we know from other ways of assessing literature and existing guidelines that there are gaps in the research that is out there.

And in fact, several years ago, we actually did a gap analysis using Delphi methodology, which means that using a structured approach of experts we identified areas where the evidence is lacking in pre-hospital care.

Now, over time, some of those gaps have been filled in.

And the point of the paper that we're discussing today is these are recent publications, peer reviewed and otherwise, that either address gaps in literature, important topic areas that affect the patient interactions that we're having in the field, that address gaps between guidelines or address topics that are really under recognized in the field of EMS medicine and the field of EMS research.

And our group of experts that put together this top ten list took all those considerations in place.

I mean, was there a, you know, it's like under a conference, was there a call for papers? Did people contribute? How did you collect and collate that stuff? And then how did you analyze it to give us the, you know, the presentation and paper that we have?
