So, Christine, if I had to flip it to the winter sports, did you ever find yourself educating the people around you about celiac disease or were your team of dieticians, medical staff at the time you were in the Olympics the same or different?

Christine NesbittGUEST
I am a little bit older so my games took place a little while ago and my experience was not like that.

Christine NesbittGUEST
In the environment that I was in it was a bit of a surprise that I was diagnosed with celiac disease.

Christine NesbittGUEST
There was no follow-up about regular blood testing or all the pieces of the puzzle that fit around just eating gluten-free.

So, so Christine, uh, if I had to flip it to the winter sports, did you ever find yourself educating the people around you about celiac disease? Or were your team of dieticians, medical staff at the time you were in the Olympics the same or different?

Christine NesbittGUEST
I am a little bit older, so my games took place [laughs] a little while ago, and my experience was not like that.

Christine NesbittGUEST
In the environment that I was in, it was a bit of a surprise that I was diagnosed with celiac disease.

Christine NesbittGUEST
The only real information I got was, "You need to eat gluten-free." So there was no follow-up about, uh, regular blood testing or all the pieces of the puzzle that fit around just eating gluten-free, and even at the time I didn't understand how significant cross-contamination could be to my health and wellness.

Christine NesbittGUEST
And considering it had taken such a long time for me to be diagnosed, I'm certain I was having cross-contamination in my final two years of competing.
