right now at the subnational level to push these through? So

step one when you're tackling this issue is policy and particularly regulations to set a minimum energy performance standard that says in country A, B, or C, D, right? Let's say you're in India.
17:09
The Bureau of Energy Efficiency has the authority to say, India-wide, an air conditioner can only consume so much, right? The energy efficiency ratio has to be this, right? And so that is a tool that policymakers have, and they can set that floor so that everything that's available on the market is as efficient as possible, right? So that's a step one.
17:35
Yeah, right.
17:37
And that's the floor.
17:40
That says, you know, in the U.S., for example, we have these, your refrigerator can only consume so many kilowatt hours in a year, right? So that sets your minimum energy performance as a matter of national policy.
17:53
That's an incredibly powerful tool that we have to start with.
