CEO of the Dutch Bros. Coffee

11:43
So what motivated that decision? And how often does an LTO get added to the permanent menu?
11:50
Yeah.
11:50
So that was something we certainly had it in the back of our mind as we were developing this.
11:54
It's actually been a two-year journey, I think, developing a product kind of with that right mix, doing all of the taste testing, all of the market testing.
12:03
But we'll typically launch new even platforms that we have as LTOs just to make sure that everything we saw is what we continue to see as we go through a national launch.
12:13
And we saw everything we thought we'd saw and even more.
12:15
And so really excited by that, which is what allowed us to really understand that that should be a platform rather than an LTO.

15 MINS LATER

26:55
What are you measuring and is there anything that you're now capturing that maybe you weren't measuring before the rollout?
35:20
Why do you think you'll have an edge with salad and go in these 65 locations? What do the margins look like in general, Christine, for QSR versus coffee?
35:29
Yeah, so as we look across the industry and look at adding more sites to our portfolio, we are on a marching path to get to 2,029 shops in 2029.
35:41
We're just over 1,200 shops today.
35:44
So what these locations will allow us to do is to really continue to add density in some markets where we perform very, very well.
35:53
Part of coffee and part of beverage in general is really being close to your customers.
35:58
So being incredibly convenient.
36:00
And so we continue as we grow to really densify these markets.
37:55
Are you seeing that impact, your consumer right now?
35:20
It seems like that young consumers, Gen Z, have discovered you, and I'm trying to figure out what they think, what draws them? What is it that's different? What are they excited about?
35:31
Yeah, so as we look at our customers, it's really a full experience that you get at Dutch Bros.
35:36
And so when you come through our drive-through, our Broistas just love to engage our customers.
35:41
They love to have a little conversation with them.
35:44
They love to remember them and their names.
35:46
And so I think that not only do you get an awesome drink, but you also get that conversation.
37:11
even
37:12
higher? And it could go higher.
Kate RogersCORRESPONDENT
42:00
So why is this an opportunity and what are you doing right?
42:04
Yeah, so as we look at breakfast, we have mainly beverages right now.
42:08
And so what we're adding is some egg-based options in the morning.
42:12
We're just testing this in a couple of our markets right now.
42:16
We shared last week that we've been testing it in about 64 shops.
42:19
So we will continue to add this in more shops.
42:23
We're really pleased with what we're seeing.
Kate RogersCORRESPONDENT
42:50
So what do you see as the biggest opportunity and challenge moving ahead?
14:50
Just tell us about that, because it means a lot to you and it means a lot to everybody.
14:55
Well, thank you so much.
14:56
We're celebrating an important anniversary ourselves.
15:00
And we have three national givebacks that we do at Dutch Bros every single year.
15:05
But the most important one and the one that really represents our culture is Drink One for Dane.
15:11
It's in honor of our founder, our co-founder, Dane Borsma.
15:15
And he really set the culture for the company.

6 MINS LATER

20:55
Are you satisfied with the time to market for mobile ordering? And does it ever get in the way of the people just drop by?
18:33
How did you know about spotting this synergy between a really fabulous clothier and Dutch pros?
18:41
So Vinky is awesome.
18:43
I just finished a quick meeting with him.
18:46
And what it starts with is actually finding folks who really fit with our culture first.
18:51
That is what is our fuel.
18:53
That is why we have the permission to grow.
18:55
And Vinky is just such a wonderful culture fit for us.
20:36
Are you fighting over real estate, or is there still plenty of siting to be done for Dutch Bros?
16:47
I want to get your reaction to that and how you think about such policies within your stores at Dutch Bros.
16:53
So we're a drive-thru system, so we actually don't have a lobby.
16:56
Our customers are coming through the drive-thru or coming to the walk-up window to pick up their orders.
17:01
And as far as how we look at our customers, we really know who we are and believe that we have a super unique point of view on the market.
17:10
We provide customized energy drinks, and we think that we have really perfected the art of service with speed.
17:42
employees been affected by these wildfires?
17:44
Yeah, we have had some employee impacts and so we are looking at how do we best support our employees who might be looking for a place to stay.
17:53
We're looking at how can we support the community and it's one of these things where you want to be really thoughtful about being there but not getting in the way of the support that the communities really need.
