I wanted to ask you what examples come to mind when it comes to nonprofits and accountability.
5:44
There are, like, three cases that are big in my head because also on the other end of accountability, we also have the problem of people not giving grace, especially to marginalized-led organizations.
5:57
Like, when you look at who is required to give accountability, it's almost always marginalized people.
6:02
They are held to a different standard Then all the other people and organizations within the nonprofit industrial complex and our society at large.
6:12
Usually, you have the privileged, like wealthy nonprofit leadership, and then you have the service workers who have lived experience in what they are trying to solve.
6:26
So like, the expertise is with the service people, but the leadership's making the decisions, and they're making shit decisions and also oppressing their staff.
6:37
And anytime you have accountability requested or, like, an opportunity to build change, that doesn't happen.

Any final takeaways for the executive directors or directors of development listening to this topic and thinking, like, "How can I apply this to my job?"
