Hannah GuyHOST
But what kind of is it actually like to be in the client seat with a music therapist?

Chris MorrisonGUEST
So yeah, so in my work with clients, actually, I work mostly with adults, maybe or not, and do some music therapy work.

Chris MorrisonGUEST
A lot of people, like children, adolescents, and that population can be served in that regard.

Chris MorrisonGUEST
But how I use music with adults, so say I'm working with someone who has a trauma background or experience, or kind of coming into play, who are looking to do a little bit more deeper work, something like depth work, more psychodynamic focus, you kind of pull in some Jungian psychology, Carl Jung work, these kinds of things.

Chris MorrisonGUEST
So it's a set program that's about four or five songs that's set to meet someone kind of where they're at, whether or not they're struggling with grief, sadness, transition, to get them to a spot where it's a little bit more comfortable, do a little bit of mindful, steep breathing.

Chris MorrisonGUEST
And then I'll kind of play that music program with intention to kind of use the music to kind of catalyze some emotions, kind of serve it as a container to hold some emotions, help kind of communicate things a little bit more right brain of the body.
