Chris, having been a photographer yourself in the field before then, what did you expect from photographers working for, for National Geographic?

I expected them to work their butts off.

I expected them to be honest.

I expected them to have integrity in the field.

I expected them to have to operate under the highest journalistic principles.

I expected them, if I asked them an uncomfortable story about a, a- an uncomfortable question about a picture-Or how the picture was made or what it meant.

I expected them to be honest.

But maybe when you had the encounter with the bull elephant in the Ngorongoro Crater would be a good story.

And you went to study photojournalism.

When you're in school as a teenager, you want to belong to something or someone, be part of it, I think.

And I had an interesting thing happen.

I was in high school.

I was in an honors English class, and I loved to write, as, as, again, that was another thing my mother loved to do.
