22:14
Yeah.
22:14
What would he want on his birthday? Um, and I think, of course, he would want to get as many people in heaven as possible.
22:20
So for years now, we've had a year-end offering that 100% of it g- is, it goes to things, not that pays for budgets, doesn't pay for salaries, doesn't pay for anything that we're currently doing.
22:31
It pa- it, it, it invests in that which we could do, and we are always very generous, kinda like give surprise, uh, checks to local ministries and, and places that are touching people in ways that we could honestly never do.
22:45
They're specialists in certain areas.
22:47
Man, it gives us a chance to bless pastors.
22:49
I mean, we've had ...

32:19
Hmm.
0:00
That's awesome.
0:01
That's awesome.
0:02
Come on, give God all the praise, everybody.
0:08
Well, I have a question for you.
0:09
Who's glad to be in church today? Anybody, anybody? Yeah, me too.
0:12
It's really good to be with you, so let me take this opportunity to say hello to all of our campuses.
LoganHOST
15:51
I'd love for you to talk about that principle and maybe share that story.
15:55
Yeah, so you're right.
15:57
This is a principle.
15:58
And even after I teach it, people still don't do it.
16:01
That's what's shocking.
16:02
I just, I don't get it.
16:03
But the bucket list principle, of course, the bucket list are the things you want to do before you kick the bucket.

Which one or two do you want to jump into with the remainder we have left and then the rest they can read in the book?

0:23
Enjoy the message.
0:25
How about a hand for all the Dream Teamers who got up really early this morning, set all this stuff up, getting ready to take it all down.
0:32
So thank you, thank you, all the team that are back there.
0:35
God bless you guys.
0:36
And today I want to continue our series that you guys have been in, that pastors entitled Your God is Too Small.
0:45
And the thesis of this series is that our perspective of God can reduce him down when really he's a really big God.
0:53
Can I hear a better amen, everybody, right? And so we're doing it through the life of Elijah, looking at the life of Elijah.

36 MINS LATER

speaker_0NARRATOR
36:57
How about a hand clap for everybody who just prayed this prayer?
10:56
So there's another service that exists that creates like Nova jobs that users then can continue to interact with after the initial run.
11:03
Yeah, I can add a little more color on the deflakes thing.
11:06
So we've got a platform called Flakes, which helps like detect if you've introduced a flaky test and then like it'll go and create like a Jira ticket and assign it to a team.
11:15
Right.
11:16
And a lot of times this ends up like on the plate of a very busy on-call engineer or very busy teams who don't have time to prioritize these things.
11:27
And so this was just a great example of TOIL that we thought we could help with.
11:34
And so the idea is to look at both the failing and passing logs of the job and try to Get some clues there just based on logs, like where things were going wrong, and then kind of spin it up with an agent to create a hypothesis of why it's failing, code up a fix, and then run it a couple hundred times to see, did we actually fix it? You know, there's pitfalls along the way.

16 MINS LATER

27:48
So kind of like given that you're already talking about, you know, the interactive versus hands off, what are your folks' opinion on orchestrators? Yeah, this
4:23
So can you talk about that as, I mean, in a very impatient culture, that that is an important thing to have cultivated?
4:33
Yeah, that's I probably wrote that one for myself, by the way, that's of all the qualities in that book that I try to share the values that I want to pass along.
4:41
That might be the one that I'm still working on the most I can I can be very, very impatient at times.
4:45
Now, Ginny, this actually began, you know, I just, I just turned 63 years old.
4:51
And I have five kids and 12 grandchildren and one on the way.
4:56
And, and it's so funny how you get to this place in your life, that you know, you're building, building, building, building, and all of a sudden, it's like I turned a corner.
5:04
And it's like, okay, I'm leaving, leaving, leaving, leaving, I just what do I leave behind? Like, you know, and so I don't I don't know if it's the age, I don't know if it's the number, I don't know if it's the grandkids, but that's what happened.
7:20
Can you talk about the fact that you almost quit writing this book?
10:18
Can you just talk briefly about the mindset and the heart behind hanging this off at the top of your game when it'd be hard to walk away and say, okay, now I'm going to do this new thing over here and now really focus on building Highlands College and handing off all of the platform and fame and everything else to another pastor that you built.
10:39
Right.
10:40
Well, I'll tell you, we worked very hard on it because we knew people were watching.
10:48
So we were very intentional with it.
10:50
And now I have companies and I've had businesses and other churches out there teach us and walk us through this process.
10:57
One of the best things that we did, I'll give you two or three things that we did, but one of the best things, I brought in a third party to help us through the process.
11:04
I think you need this outside eye, someone who can even... you know, be a go-between in the conversations between you and whoever the successor is, because there's a lot of things to discuss, honestly, that get forgotten.

6 MINS LATER

17:38
Talk about what is your vision for this college? What is the goal and the mission of the college for people?
11:30
Before we jump into the book, just speak a little bit to how important today is for everybody listening about building the legacy that's coming.
11:37
Yeah, so legacy simply defined is what you leave behind.
11:41
Not only for people, but in people.
11:44
And by the way, that's good or bad.
11:46
So even if you don't agree with this, you're still doing it.
11:50
And even if you're not doing a good job at it, you're still doing it.
11:52
Every one of us are going to be remembered by something.

13 MINS LATER

24:53
Talk about a time that when you saw something in someone that maybe others weren't seeing, and how did you actually call that out in them? And what did you do? And then what's the result of it? Yeah, so John Maxwell taught me this

Our next guest is Chris Hodges, founding pastor of Church of the Highlands and bestselling author, who after years of pushing through grief and burnout on adrenaline alone, hit a wall and had to completely relearn how he was living.
14:38
I'm Chris Hodges, and I'm the founding pastor of Church of the Highlands in Birmingham.
14:43
It's a multi-site church that has 26 locations across Alabama and Georgia.
14:51
And we're also in all 28 of Alabama's Department of Corrections facilities every Sunday, actually between Sundays, too.
14:59
So a year ago, after 24 years of founding and leading the church, I handed it to the next generation to lead.
15:07
So now I'm founding pastor, not lead pastor, and I'm leading our university.
15:13
We started a Christian university in 2011. with the purpose of placing 100% of our graduates in full-time ministry.
