i'm great uh hi lindsay hi okay well let's let's start with this uh just as an introduction for both of you chris is kind of like this hidden figure i think in the world of defensive metrics because he's got this stat that figures into the sabermetric defensive index that maybe people don't know even exists uh and i'll get to lindsay in a second but chris just introduce yourself to us and your work in the world of baseball research

Chris DialGUEST
So I started baseball research on the, in real form in about 1996, back when the internet was early.

Chris DialGUEST
And what had happened there was a baseball defensive process called project score sheet that was started by bill James and john the one.

Chris DialGUEST
And when john the one left to start stats it kind of died out as a public access so after about five years john is publishing zone ratings and I had been a score for him, so I said when in the chat group for people felt like Defense was not that important, I said, well, we could turn.

Chris DialGUEST
And so in 96, I started doing that and publishing that on, at the time it was Usenet news groups.

Is there anything else that either of you are working on that you'd like to give a plug to?
