S4: E6 Collaborating to Drive Global Progress in Clinical Research

But what have you learned about building governance models that kind of hit that balance of global consistency with local flexibility? And where do you think partnerships can often get that balance wrong?
C
10:15Chris BooneGUEST
I think governance for many people is treated like a four letter word and they treat it as very much more procedural and oversight and not really as something that could be what I feel is deeply strategic.
C
10:27Chris BooneGUEST
And that's probably where a lot of partnerships fall apart, you know, as they are treating it much more as an administrative burden rather than almost like a decision matrix or a decision architecture that would drive how things are really cultivated.
C
10:41Chris BooneGUEST
And that generally happens, though, when you approach things from sort of a, you know, there's clarity in sort of the tiered decision making structure.

So you're going to establish, you know, your global standards, which must be consistent irrespective of location.

I'm curious about in practice, sort of the day to day, how are these technology partnerships helping to both reduce fragmentation, but also improve data quality across regions? And are there any sort of instances where where some digital solutions have maybe fallen short of expectations and you've had to kind of go back and reassess and try something new?

And, uh, w- a breeding that really kinda made me see something needed to be done, uh, after this was a good friend of mine, Todd Gibson, down in, uh, in Alabama.
C
30:55Chris BooneGUEST
Uh, he had actually come up here to breed to, uh, an old dog I had that was called Chief.
C
31:02Chris BooneGUEST
And, uh, Chief went straight back to the, the old Spring Creek Buck stuff that I, that I'd started with, um, pretty straight down the line.
C
31:12Chris BooneGUEST
But old Chief had apparently had went, uh, sterile on me, so, uh, first time he brought his, his female up here she didn't have any pups.
C
31:21Chris BooneGUEST
Uh, he come back, he said, uh, he said, "Man, I'd really like to try her again." And, uh, I said, "Well, come on back." And, uh, he got up here, and she wasn't hardly, uh, ready to stand at the, at the time.
