He had a team together, and they came up with some innovative ideas.

This Covington Board of Education, uh, sent the first application to the State Board of Education for a school of innovation de- designation that involved getting waivers from laws and regulations that impede their flexibility.

Uh, and it was a very thoughtful, um, a very thoughtful application.

However, the General Assembly was overjoyed by it, and, and Senator West actually moved some additional enhancements to the law to sort of increase the flexibility, but also created a school innovation fund, um, uh, pilot-
