I'd love for you to just take our audiences back to where it all began.
0:36
Thank you so much for inviting me to your show.
0:39
I am happy to be here.
0:41
When I was 25, I got married.
0:44
I thought, "Oh, this, this is it.
0:46
I found the man of my life.
0:48
You know, he's handsome.
4:34
Was she actually married to him if she found out he was m- already married to somebody else?" In what span did he end up meeting and marrying these other women?
4:07
you suddenly realized When you are suddenly comforted with the possibility of losing everything you have planned for, what becomes important that perhaps wasn't important before?
4:20
Well, I know that one of the questions that I said to myself, because I have dogs and I thought, who's going to care for my dogs? What's going to happen with this? I really didn't have a fear of death or anything like that because as I was going through this, one of the things that God told me was he said, and I just feel like he didn't tell me audibly, but he kind of like put in my heart, if I choose to take you home, you win because to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
4:50
That is the ultimate, ultimate win in life is to to, if he takes us home, we're present with him.
4:58
And he can say, well done, my good and faithful servant.
5:01
And then he said to me, if I choose to keep you here, that means you win again because I have something for you to do.
5:09
I have a purpose for you and your life needs to go on because you've got things to do for me.
5:15
And so I really didn't fear anything at that point in time because I was like, well, I'm in a win-win situation, which is kind of where the title of my book, Win-Win Miracles Still Happens, comes from.

12:44
Through all of that, how has your faith shaped the way you understand suffering, hope and resilience?
1:26
I'd love for you to take our audiences back to where it all began.
1:30
Thank you so much for inviting me to your show.
1:33
I am happy to be here.
1:35
And I'm gonna start off with the fact that none of us intend any difficulties to happen in our life.
1:43
And I have a theme verse now to my life.
1:46
It's Genesis 50:20, where it says, "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." And that's kind of where I really believe God has taken my story and my life.
2:03
And so I grew up in Southern California.

4:34
So I would ask, was there a specific moment during your battle with leukemia when fear felt overwhelming and you honestly didn't know how things would turn out?
4:47
Oh yeah.
4:47
Oh, most definitely.
4:49
Um, when I found out, I actually, how I found out was kind of weird because I just thought that I was tired and it was after the death of my husband that I was diagnosed.
5:02
So I was diagnosed in 2000 and I thought I was just tired.
5:07
I I know that when people are super tired, they're probably anemic or something like that.
5:15
And so that's what took me to the hospital.

For someone listening who feels defeated by circumstance right now, how can they begin developing the win-win mindset when they don't even feel strong enough to get through today?
